This has been an extremely disappointing and worrisome experience. After my 12-month agreement ended, the service claimed I owed a 'remaining balance' exceeding $150 and wouldn't allow cancellation until it was paid. The reasons provided kept changing (freezes, rolling extensions, payment completion dates), none of which were clearly communicated or logical. I was also charged fees I never approved. When I raised my concerns, I was told they were 'standard' and non-refundable, without any proof of my consent. Rather than resolving the issue, I faced continuous payment demands. The cancellation process feels deliberately obstructive and draining. If you wish to leave, be ready for confusion, pressure, and disputed charges. I would strongly advise anyone considering joining to reconsider.
My experience was very poor and concerning. After my 12-month agreement ended, the service insisted I owed a 'remaining balance' of over $150 and refused to allow cancellation until it was paid. The explanations kept changing (freezes, rolling extensions, payment completion dates), none of which were clearly disclosed or made sense. I also faced charges I never agreed to. When I questioned them, I was told these were 'standard' and non-refundable, with no proof I had consented. Instead of resolving the issue, I received repeated payment demands. The cancellation process feels intentionally obstructive and exhausting. If you ever want to leave, prepare for confusion, pressure, and disputed charges. I would strongly caution anyone considering joining.
This is the worst gym I've ever visited. The equipment was extremely outdated. Yes, they were 'updating' it slowly, but they still don’t have mats, which I requested over two years ago. One of their biggest 'updates' was converting the main area where women used to stretch into a weight-lifting zone. Every time I went, there were maybe two people using it, compared to the many women who previously used that space. It makes no sense. Another big issue: the trainers monopolize the machines, often using two at once, even during non-peak times. This makes it difficult to access equipment. DO NOT JOIN. It’s frustrating, and there are far better gyms available. I only stayed due to convenience.
I've been a loyal member for years, visiting the gym frequently. Recently, after a refurbishment, the monthly fee increased, and I didn't receive any notification. The receptionist assured me that if I re-signed for another 12 months, they could slightly reduce the increase and refund me £10. Later, I was told I wouldn't receive the refund because an email was sent to me. This is the most appalling customer service I've encountered. For the sake of £10, they are willing to lose a long-term customer! I'm utterly shocked.
Eating in gym changing rooms can be uncomfortable for many reasons, including concerns about cleanliness, hygiene, and food allergies. Many view the changing room as a private space for dressing and showering, not for eating. There are worries about messes, crumbs, or smells in a space meant for hygiene. Furthermore, those with food allergies may be anxious about cross-contamination. For some, the changing room already brings anxiety, and adding eating to the mix can worsen that feeling. Many gyms have designated areas for meals, making it easier to find a suitable place to eat. It's generally considerate to avoid eating in changing rooms to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for everyone.
The gym was closed, and I was moved to a smaller nearby location. There is a 4-week cooling-off cancellation period, which meant I had to pay for 4 weeks even though the original service was no longer available. That aspect was disappointing.
My recent experience with the service has highlighted how poor communication can really damage trust. Their branch closed, and despite having a fully paid annual membership, I followed the proper process to cancel early. I was assured my refund would be processed within 6–8 weeks. Now, almost three months later, I still haven't received it or any proper response despite several follow-ups. It's disheartening when a brand that promotes health and community fails to live up to those values.
I had to bring my daughter twice for a canceled kids' class. The receptionist initially told me the class was on Wednesday and Saturday, but when I arrived on Wednesday, it was canceled. The receptionist took my number but didn’t contact me about the cancellation. When I returned on Saturday, I was told the class was canceled again! The reception staff are unhelpful and often aggressive when asked questions. This behavior has made me dislike the gym, and my daughter is upset too. You've lost a customer due to this experience, and my whole family will think twice before bringing their kids here again.
