Unfair Charges & Deposit Refused — Very Poor ServiceI hired an MG HS from Fleeto (Simple Self Drive) on 11/12/2025. Due to the vehicle being very poor on fuel efficiency which i wasn't advised about, I returned the car early on 17/12/2025 and Fleeto was unable to supply me with another vehicle and then i requested my refundable £250 deposit.That is when Fleeto refused to refund it, claiming that I had breached the contract but i had returned the vehicle on the 6th day of hire. They stated they do not recognise the 14-day cooling-off period and then added unfair charges, saying I must pay for an extra two weeks after the vehicle had already been returned.What makes this worse is that their own agreement does not state anything about having to pay additional weeks after returning the car, nor does it clearly explain why a refundable deposit can be withheld in this situation.Customer service was extremely poor — dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to provide clear explanations or point to any valid contract clause. Charges were added after the vehicle was handed back, which feels completely unjustified.In my opinion, this company operates in a misleading and unfair way and ignores UK consumer laws and regulations. Based on my experience, this feels like a scam, where deposits are withheld using questionable claims of “breach of contract”.I strongly advise others to be very cautious and keep all written evidence before dealing with Fleeto (Simple Self Drive).Choose your self a more responsible firm instead of this company that makes its own rules my advice to Uber drivers.
Be very careful before renting from Abdul and Yasmin.They actively push customers to leave five-star reviews before you even receive the car, which is misleading and does not reflect the real experience.After return, they inspect the vehicle with what feels like a magnifying glass and then charge excessive fees for the smallest issues. They also immobilise vehicles and apply penalties for minor issues, including parking disputes, which leaves customers under pressure to pay immediately.I have rented from many companies over the years, and this has been by far the worst experience. The practices feel designed to generate extra charges rather than provide fair service.Please read the other reviews carefully and make your own decision — but based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this company. . The way reviews are handled feels more like a marketing exercise than a true reflection of service quality. Negative reviews receive replies, but in my experience, no meaningful action is taken to resolve the issues.please stay away.It is also my personal belief, based on what I have seen online, that this operation may be connected to several similarly named rental companies operating from the same area (including Pace Rentals and others linked to Freshwater Lane). In my view, this makes it harder for customers to see the full pattern of negative feedback when researching online
My experience was very good. I was greeted with Kalam who had gave me a great welcoming and made sure that everything was sorted in a calm manner. I would definitely recommend this to friends. I am happy with Simple Self Drive!I walked in and needed a car on the same day and they were able to accommodate me straight away. I was able to drive off with my car on the same day within hours, doing the checks, uploading documents and everything!Martin’s service was good! Celina was excellent and helped my find information that I needed within minutes instead of me having to wait for a long time.
I had a great experience at Simple Self Drive. The staff is great. I’ve been with Simple Self Drive for the past 2 years. Billy, Kalam and Martin are welcoming and accommodating. Celina greeted me with a smile and offered me a coffee. She was polite and helpful.
I like Simple Self Drive. If I have any issues they always help me wether it is to change my car or sort out anything else. I have been with them for 2 years and have had not issues and happy to continue being with Simple Self Drive. Kalam, Martin and Billy are always helpful. Celina at the reception was very welcoming and offered me a coffee straight away.

Providing quick services by knowledgeable professional people ...At the front desk receptionist she's amazing very welcoming ...no many places you go the offer you a drink but with her is "hello good can I offer you something to drink.
