Review Time
I had purchased a Gabb phone November of 2023 to give to my daughter to stay in touch with her while she was at school/field trips in an emergency. Our experience was that it is NOT a completely safe device. She constantly got calls from unknown numbers and the only solution offered was changing the number of the phone, which we did, but it still got unknown calls. What a waste of money. Going to now buy a new device elsewhere that will only allow calls and texts from pre approved numbers.
We've used Gabb phones for five years now and while we like the premise, having to make any changes, upgrading devices, or trying to solve any tech issues is a nightmare. Customer service is extremely hard to get a hold of and not very helpful. Doing things on the account level is overly complicated and not intuitive. It takes days to solve any problems and it ends in complete frustration. But, since we can't find another company with a comparable product, we're stuck with Gabb.
Purchased two of these, but one had a non-functional GPS locator and the battery lasted only about 6 hours. I followed all suggested troubleshooting steps and the guidance from the support team, but nothing resolved the issues. It was clear that one of the items was defective, yet the representatives were unwilling to replace it despite it being under warranty. They kept insisting I restart the devices, which didn’t address the battery or hardware problems. Ultimately, I canceled the service as I was only paying for frustration and poor support. I strongly advise others to avoid this company.
This is our initial phone with the service. However, we have previously used two watches, and they performed well. It's easy to update and operate, especially for kids and tracking locations. Transitioning from a watch to a phone was smooth and straightforward. Additionally, the support team is always available, responds quickly to inquiries, and actively collaborates to resolve any issues. Highly recommended.
Candace was extremely helpful in helping me navigate some difficulties I was having with my daughter's Gabb watch. Candace was very efficient with handling my concerns. She took into consideration that I'm very busy during working hours and was able to email me troubleshooting tips. When those didn't work out, she further helped me via email with suggestions on ways to upgrade. She never once seemed bothered by my questions. She was very sympathetic to my concerns. This kind of customer service is top notch and rare these days! This solidified my decision to keep our service with this company and provide a safe connection with our daughter when we are not with her. Thank you Candace (and Gabb) for providing exceptional customer service and providing peace of mind to parents.
