Claim initially rejected for seized caliper.

When I purchased my 4 year old car (with 50k miles) from the dealer I was pleased it would be covered by the three month AA warranty which also would cover wear and tear. After a couple of weeks the car became undrivable as the front brake was sticking on, the front brake caliper had seized.Unfortunately I was initially told this would not be covered by the warranty as I was told it was not a sudden failure but also not wear and tear and maybe the defect was there at the point of sale even though the car should have had a '128' point inspection.After a follow up call to my complaint Warranty Direct and The dealer agreed to cover the whole cost of the repair so I am pleased with the outcome but not happy that I had to argue and complain to get there.

I purchased a six months 5 star…

I purchased a six months 5 star warranty when I bought a used car last October. I had problems with the heating of the car and also water getting into pockets under the carpet. Discussion with the AA resulted in them ordering a diagnosis from my usual garage and eventually agreeing to the fixing of the problem by the payment of the part for the heater. . Whilst I was left with a bill to pay the labour differences and the cost of the garage effectively dealing with the water inlet, my car is now fine. I was satisfied with my contact with them and would purchase another warranty in similar circumstances.

Long delay for car repairs - no courtesy car!

I have recently had issues with AA Warranty in relation to the repairs to my car which has been in the garage for almost 10 weeks and I have been without a vehicle for all that time. I had to wait for an ABS unit to come from Japan which took around a month to arrive. When I requested the use of a courtesy car after the first 4 weeks of my care being in the garage. I was only offered "as a gesture" a courtesy car for 1 week! Totally unsatisfied with this and I didn't bother to take up the gesture offer as I would still be without a car after the week was up. AA Warranty need to up their game when vehicles are in the garage for repairs for a long period and provide customers with a courtesy car!

The AA Warranty was sold to me when I purchased my car at Car Giant. At the time I was unsure if it was needed but after making a claim for an expensive electronic fault it has already paid for itself. The phone service is manned by very polite, professional and friendly UK based staff not an Indian call centre. They handled my claim and dealt with the main dealer that undertook the work. I was reinbursed for the costs in 2 weeks and this has saved me a huge headache. I totally recommend this to anyone who is thinking of buying a used car with it's manufacturers warranty due to expire. Understandably This will not cover you for wear and tear, but for electronics and sensors this is a common problem with modern cars.

Following taking out the 3 month AA…

Following taking out the 3 month AA warranty after buying our daughter a car. We were unlucky to have it develop a problem that required the AA to replace the cars Coil Pack. Even though we were a couple of days outside the warranty period, the lovely people at Motorway Direct plc actually honoured the warranty for us and repaid the full amount of the work that the AA did on her car. We can't thank them enough for the understanding and kindness shown to us by the scheme and thoroughly recommend anyone buying a used car who is offered the AA 3 month warranty to seriously consider taking it. It worked very well for us.
