I wouldn't waste my money on a AA…

I wouldn't waste my money on a AA warranty or any third party Warranty, i have had several of these warranty over the years, and i have never ever been able to make a successful claim, I know when you are buying a car, probably the 2nd largest purchase you are making in your life, and it's easy to get suckered in the fear of "What if", well "if" it happens, Don't expect AA to cover you, there is always way to prove it was wear and tear, and unless it was a total failure " that means if your car broke in half" then you have no case, I Paid £700 for 1 year cover, and today i took it to my dealer for some noise i was getting, and he said i can't drive the car as it's a safety issue because of the sagging suspension, as far as AA was concerned it's not a total faiure so they won't cover under the warranty,When i phone AA to make a claim I spoke to a lady Sophie.P she said as far as she is concerned "it's no a total fauilure" so i am not covered. I stated that in that case I should be able to drive it home then, she said "no that's not what i am saying", so I repeated that the dealer says is a failure which poses a safety issue, As far i was concerned it is a fauilure then , she said it's not a total failure so AA won't cover under their clause Blah di Blah!, I won't go deeper in the conversation, suffice to say, it was an absolute waste of money buying the policy, if anyone knows how to claim the policy money back i will like to know.Don't buy the policy, you will feel pressured because the dealer will ask again and again, and because i was financing it, I was made to feel that the finance may not be approved without it, These are the kind of pressure you feel that forces you to buy the policy, what's basically a pile of toot on paper.

AA Service Was Poor

Whilst the claim was eventually settled, I was forced to do much of the chasing and liaison between the garage and the AA. The process could and should have been simpler. If I have to claim again, I sincerely hope the onus is on the AA to do the leg work and not me and work cost with the garage to ensure the work is done in a timely manner. Staff were fine on the phone but the processes need improving.

Work covered under warranty, but rather challenging

For the initial assessment of the claim, we were sent to a garage that had gone bust! We were then sent to a garage which we had previously been told had been taken off their approved list, but all of a sudden were ok. The garage having originally said that the initial assessment would only be chargeable if the claim was not accepted, then tried to charge for the assessment despite the fact the claim was accepted. Clearly I advised them otherwise!! The garage took a couple of working days to get the claim approved, before work began.It all seemed a challenge to be honest. Really hope that we do not have to use it again.

AA don’t care if the Driver/owner is Disabled

I bought this car and was not told that car was fitted with after market immobiliser and the car would not start was told to take it to aa appointed garage and car was there for over 10 days after which it was repaired but aa would not settle with the garage and this lasted 5 days and for which AA knew I was disabled driver and did not care I kept calling aa warranty to find out what was going on but they kept on passing me from one person to another l found that they don’t care and they don’t care if the person is disabled and they never got back to me It seems to me I was not important at all for which time I was house bound. As I was restricted with my mobility.

AA Warranty settled my gearbox failure…

AA Warranty settled my gearbox failure without quibble or delay. I was very impressed with the way it was dealt with. I would not normally take out a warranty policy, but I'm definitely glad I did. I would highly recommend anybody to take out a warranty with the AA.
