Do not take out AA Warranty for your…

Do not take out AA Warranty for your car. I made the mistake of doing this. Basically My vehicle is under warranty by AA which I had bought when I purchased my car. My car broke down in the first week of January 2019 therefore I contacted the warranty claims department and gave them all the necessary details and was reassured that it would be covered under warranty. They told me to take my car to an approved garage in slough, however that garage was permanently closed. Then I was told to take my car to another approved garage halfords auto centre in slough. After my car was there for one day I received a call saying they are unable to connect to the ECU of my car. Then I was advised to take it to another approved garage in hayes. I was advised by the mechanic in hayes that he would not be able to even check if it's the ECU and he then told me to take it to a Vauxhall main dealer. I then contacted AA warranty, the advisor told me to take it to advanced Vauxhall in slough. We towed the vehicle there, paid £384 for diagnostic checks but still no one could repair the car. Again, I contacted AA warranty and the advisor said take it to hayes autos an approved garage, the same garage that even refused to check the ECU. The vehicle was taken there and they had the ECU checked independently and their report showed that the ECU was fine!!I was then told by them that the car has to be towed back to Vauxhall garage in slough for a software code. So on 13th March my car was towed back to them. Now after doing their diagnostic checks again they are still saying they need to change the ECU. So we are back to square one. The car has been going back and forth since January which is very frustrating. I would like to complain about the service I have received from AA warranty and its approved garages. I have made hundreds of phone calls spoke to so many advisers and always requested to get an update at least. I regret to say I have never had any updates whatsoever even after being promised phone calls. This is by each and every advisor I have spoken to so it's not that there is a few people who lack the ability to handle customers in the correct way. Surely, they should not give false messages to customers saying yes we will update you. I feel this is un acceptable way of dealing with customers. I have had to chase around all these garages and AA warranty which I shouldn't have to do at all. I have been without my car since January and the car hasn't even begun to get repaired. I've never heard of anything like this in the UK. I never thought that making a claim under a warranty which I have paid for would be this complicating and this slow. Nearly 4 months since I put in my claim and I haven't got my car back. This company is very quick to get you to buy their warranty but so slow in providing services. Beware of this unprofessional and useless company.

Absolute waste of time and money.

Absolute waste of time and money.Car engine failure, diagnosed by 2 garages but still not enough to prove engine damage!!. Meanwhile 4 weeks of being unable to get to work as no car, each time having chase the warranty company for updates, sitting on hold for 15 mins at a time trying to get hold of motorway direct. A non mechanical minded Female having to liaise with garage about a subject they have no idea about. Stress to the extreme causing time off work, honest opinion I would just save your money for a rainy day and not bother with this useless policy. Atleast you can get your car fixed promptly without wasting your time and energy, anything to avoid paying out it seems with warranty. AA is not the prestige brand you can tryst. Save your money and your energy

SCAM WARRANTY

So I spent £500 to get this warranty when I bought my car as it had high mileage and didn’t want to worry about any problems. AVOID THIS SCAM My water pump suddenly went and I called the service team straight away and double checked it was covered, they confirmed that it was and I took it to the garage and left it with them. The following day I had a call from the garage saying that the aa had refused to repair it. I then had to chase them up to see why and they have said due to high mileage it is classified as wear and tear! I checked everything with the aa before I went out my way to the garage to prevent any issues like this and I was reassured it would all be covered. What is the point in this if you don’t pay out? Why did you sell me this in the first place if the mileage is too high to claim on it? your garage have told me it’s going to cost me £380 to fix it yet my local garage can do it for £240. BUY YOUR WARRANTY ELSEWHERE

Trust is key

Trust is key. Trust is based on actions not promises. AA Warranty can be trusted. Professionalism is how it's delivered. Within 5 mins I felt I had been heard and understood and appropriate actions taken. What more would you want from a warranty. Well done AA you continue to prove you are the first choice for vehicle emergencies.

AA gold standards in not paying warranty avoid like STDs

i bought as advertised the AA gold standard warranty from Holbury Garage saying that the clutch was covered and other mechanical breakdown.I got an amber light called AA and they told me to go to an AA approved garage AJ lawrence. I had to wait 5 days to drop off the car. It took 2 days for the AA to get back to me. the initial readout from the car computer said mechanical failure with clutch anfd fly wheel. they wanted me to authorise the gearbox removal to investigate the claim. the garage mechanic seemed to be in cahoots as he was talking about my 4 series bmw towing caravans causing damage even though my car is only 4 years old and under 80k and been no where near a caravan. now after a further 5 days they refuse to pay out the claim saying wear and tear based on dark photographs. ive shown it independent mechanics who disagree and think its mechanical. now even to put my car back together i will have to pay £330 and will need to take it a reputable garage to repair a fault that should be covered by the warranty, as falsley advertised. if the advertised we only cover clutches in extreme cases. or indicated they werent going to pay out as they usually dont. then the investigation cost would not have occured. The fraud and deception of selling a warranty that actually doesnt work and then getting extortionate investigation fees off me. they seem specialist in not paying valid claims
