Bought an AA Warranty with my car from the dealer as it is supposed to give you “piece of mind” - Yeah right! The AA are nothing but crooks. They are not interested in helping, just finding a way of paying out the absolute minimum. We had a problem diagnosed by 2 separate garages but the AA wanted their own assessor who diagnosed only part of the problem. As a result, my car has been off the road for 1.5 months, and i have had no replacement vehicle as advertised. This was explained because the faulty part only took 2 hours to replace and their terms and conditions state that it needs to be 8 hours or more. This is pathetic. So 1.5 months, only 2 hours of work...??? What the hell are they doing? They will not cover waiting time for parts, even though they specify to fit the cheapest parts available that take a week to arrive, this is not their fault and will not cover this time with a vehicle. Had they have chosen better quality parts (not even manufacturer parts), these would have been next day delivery.Their attitude stinks, and they will do nothing to help you. Having just had a newborn and being left without a car for 1.5 months is unacceptable. I would avoid the AA at all costs and will continue to seek legal action. They may be cheaply priced, but you get what you pay for and it is not worth the stress, headaches or inconvenience. Stay away from the AA crooks - you have been warned! In Response:As everyone can see, a very arrogant reply below, my car has been in the 2nd garage since 12th April, as you quite rightly have said.It is now June. You have provided no courtesy vehicle, you originally told us that the failed compressor (which may I add was diagnosed by both garages, yet your assessor diagnosed a sensor as the issue, which has been replaced but did not fix the issue as advised by 2 garages) would not be covered as per your policy but when we challenged, it was suddenly covered! The delays have been down to this plus your insistence on cheap parts that need to be ordered in - even though OE parts are in stock you want even cheaper parts - so yes, you have caused the delay. And the first garage refused to deal with you as you wanted to fit cheap parts on a low mileage, immaculate car that he was not happy to do and you argued over replacing bolts that had rusted away!!!!!So my review stands. If you truly believe that everything is the customers fault and think that nearly 2 months is an acceptable timescale to be left without a vehicle, you are deluded. As I said - AVOID!!!!
I have paid good money for a Policy that is absolutely worthless! It was bought for Peace of mind!! I feel completely ripped off and are going to contact everybody that I possibly can to let them know this! I bought my car from Flintshire Car sales and 1 month later had an oil leak. Had to have a new sump! AA didn't want to know then but I managed to get some money out of the garage. After 6 months the Turbo has gone and they said wear n tear! It seems they can say wear n tear for just about everything! When I bought the car with 65,000 miles it had had wear n tear then but they were happy to sell it to me! The garage sent a video clearly showing a breakdown of the bearings inside. My mechanic just couldn't believe it. An Independent Assessor came and his report listed excessive use of oil (Not knowing I had a new sump) questioning my oil and servicing. When I bought the car it had been serviced but a gap of a couple thousand miles so I had it serviced myself hence the oil sump came to light and fixed! I have sent numerous emails to AA Warranty who in fact are actually MOTORWAY DIRECT so you are given a false impression to start with! They sent a letter to me saying this was their final letter when they didn't have ALL the relevant information. A decision was made too EARLY! I tried ringing today they are standing by what they say! I feel totally let down so will pursue this as far as I can. I notice that all the good reviews get lovely answers back. Let's see if they answer me. Be very interesting!
I’ve had my insignia less than three weeks! in that time my rear exhaust has fallen off, my clutch is clunking , my steering wheel feels like it’s about to rattle off above 60mph and I have a vibration problem in the steering column at slow speeds.. I was given an aa warranty on purchase, none of the issues above were covered under this warranty, better off buying loads of toilet roll.. at least if that goes wrong you have sumats to wipe your butt on!! Had to harass them for a week to get them to hand over the 1 year breakdown cover., and this is basic only, no recovery etc.. fudge this company. Find a dealership with in-house repairs.. don’t touch aa warranty.
What an absolute scam of a product. I got a warranty when I purchased my secondhand BMW 6 Series which may as well be written on toilet paper.I took my car in for a service after a couple of months of owning just to make sure everything was ok. As it turns out the car has a engine oil leak that I now know is caused by leaking rocker covers. Despite the fact the I have only done about 300 miles in 3 months, the AA say that this is wear and tear so will not be covered under the warranty. Given I bought it from a AA Approved dealer, this also confirms that they do not carry out checks on the car as this should have been mentioned on their report on the car. Also, how can you only travel 300 miles in 3 months and be hit with a £700 bill for wear and tear caused prior to the sale that should have been noted. Do not purchase or put your trust in this sham of a warranty that will not provide you any peace of mind!
Bought a vehicle with so-called Warranty. Within a few months both front wheel bearings need replacing. Verdict of AA Warranty is that it is wear and tear. I end up having to pay extra for a diagnosis and the more expensive repairer than I would normally use. It is a sham. If they are providing a warranty I would argue that any excess wear and tear that has happened before the sale should be excluded from the calculation. The vehicle should be inspected before sale and any parts that look like they are about to be needing replacement should be noted - before issuing a warranty. If I had worn and torn the parts I would have accepted the situation. However this is a travesty. I will probably cancel my AA membership as well - therefore their loss too.
Initially refused claim, but after persisting and pushing they've paid for the repairs. The entire process took almost 2 months and 2 different garages. I was without a car for almost 2 months, which was not good. I rented a car which cost me a fortune. I received 2 parking tickets through the post while it was at the garage, which, again, was stressful. I believe the garage check the issue quickly and then pass the info over to AA warranty. But AA warranty twiddle their thumbs figuring out a cheaper way to fix it, so the issue sits with AA warranty for a long period of time.I've bought AA warranty previously, but never once made a claim until now. I believe "wear and tear" excuse is used A LOT, especially if the repair is potentially expensive. It was stressful but it was all done in the end. The people I spoke to at AA warranty were polite and helpful, including the team leader/manager that initially contacted me after I left this review.
This company is an absolute scam! Don’t bother taking any warranty with these people I have made 2 claims and both have been rejected for no legit reason! The 128 point safety checks they are supposed to carry out when you buy a car from a garage is an absolute lie I am currently in the process of taking this company to court they are that bad!
Do not be fooled. An AA Warranty is not from the AA. There are two sub companies underneath paying to use the AA's name. I have just made a claim after buying a car - 1 month in and there's a clear fault with a component in the suspension. They say it isn't covered because it is wear and tear. The description they give covers every kind of fault i.e. they could use the excuse they used for me on anyone (and they charge you for that investigation to say the car has a fault too!) . Don't be fooled - an AA warranty adds no value to your purchase - it gives a false sense of security.
