Grok has become the kind of product that makes you wonder whether anyone behind it has actually tried it. Every update is hyped as some revolutionary leap forward, yet the experience feels like watching a circus tent collapse in slow motion. The idea that I should “upgrade” to anything—Super Grok, Mega Grok, Grok Deluxe, whatever marketing fever dream they’re pushing next—is laughable when the regular version can’t even keep its own wheels attached.

The model stumbles over basic tasks, forgets what it said two sentences ago, and delivers answers that feel like they were scraped from the bottom of a malfunctioning vending machine. It’s a shit show, plain and simple—an expensive, glitchy, self‑congratulatory mess that somehow manages to get worse the more they brag about it.

Navigation is a maze, features break without warning, and the whole thing reeks of a product that was shoved out the door long before it was ready. Instead of fixing the glaring problems, they slap on new labels and expect users to applaud. Why would anyone pay more for a “premium” version when the base model can’t even stand upright?

Grok used to show promise. Now it’s just another overhyped tech dud that mistakes marketing slogans for actual performance. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere—this platform has become a parody of its own ambitions.

The sole reason why I bought Twitter's Annual Subscription was I needed to use Super Grok to try and build a complex car app, it was £377 p.a. I am really shocked how impoverished, frightfully useless and horrendously bad Super Grok is, nothing "super" about it at all. As, I've already subscribed to 3 other AI tools, I am now left with no choice but to try Gemini. Based on my experience, Gemini is quantum leaps ahead of the other 3.

I've been using Grok ImagineX and for the past week, it will not download videos. It will download a picture, just not video's. They charge, and you can email them, but the responses you get are all AI.

Elon nay have a great personality and be a genius, but his companies customer service leave a lot to be desired.

Totally infuriating, and he charges for the aggravation.

The Ultimate AI Companion for Knowledge and Truth

This is the top AI application for having your very own Aristotle-like assistant. It boasts one of the lowest rates of inaccuracies among all available AI agents and consistently backs up its responses with evidence. It's the best source of intelligence and information you can have at your fingertips. This AI is trustworthy and dedicated to seeking the truth. Truly the best app ever!

I've been using Grok on grok.com for about 3 months now, sticking with the free version, though I've seriously considered upgrading to the paid plan just to see what extra features it brings.

Out of all the AI assistants I've tried, my two absolute favorites for everyday conversations, asking questions, getting help with code, spelling, grammar, and general tasks are Grok and Google's Gemini. I've had both good and bad experiences with each of them over time, but one area where Grok really stands out for me is the customization options in the settings. The custom instructions for response style and behavior are far more responsive and reliable than what Gemini offers—Google's system often ignores saved memories or specific commands, but I rarely run into that issue with Grok.

Once you take the time to set up the custom Grok instructions properly (things like tone, format preferences, or specific guidelines), the responses become incredibly consistent and helpful. For example, adding clear directions like "Always double-check everything thoroughly before responding, and output final results in a clean code box for easy copying" makes a huge difference in the quality and usability of the output.

I suspect a lot of the negative reviews I've seen about Grok come from people who either didn't know about these customization settings or didn't spend a few minutes tweaking them to fit their needs. When you get those dialed in, Grok performs reliably and delivers exactly what you're looking for.

Overall, it's become one of my go-to tools, and I'm genuinely impressed with how well it works on the free tier.

Mixed Reviews but Highly Effective Based on Input

I've seen varied reviews, but my take is that it largely depends on how you phrase your prompts, much like the old saying, "Garbage in, garbage out." That said, the responses can now be quite nuanced, truly reflecting the depth of your inquiry. Since the launch, I've been using this service extensively. As someone with a background in education, I've delved into prompt crafting. As a trained educator, I focus on the essentials: who, why, where, and when, summarizing effectively.
While it may not suit every aspect of its use, for writers, it's an invaluable insight.

After two full trading days and over 40 messages, the service still cannot provide a single accurate, up-to-the-minute stock price or timestamp.
Every dashboard generated is 20 minutes to over 7 hours outdated — sometimes displaying prices from weeks ago — all while claiming to have retrieved data 'right now.'
For example, today alone: The service claimed it was '9:37 AM EST' when it was actually 5:20 PM EST.
Displayed NVDA at $148 when the actual price was already over $182.
Repeated the same 9:37 AM snapshot for six consecutive hours, regardless of how often I requested fresh data. This is not a simple glitch; it is a critical failure for anyone who trades.
I pay for the premium service expecting a powerful tool, not a malfunctioning ticker from yesterday’s news.
Other platforms I use provide instant, accurate quotes without any issues. Currently, this service is entirely unusable for market-related tasks, resulting in real financial losses due to missed opportunities and misleading signals.
Address the real-time data issues or stop claiming to be a serious resource for traders.
Until then, I rate it 1 star and will return to the competitors that actually deliver.

1/10 – Grok’s real-time pricing is a risky joke (Dec 2025)

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars. After two full trading days and over 40 messages, the service still cannot provide a single accurate, up-to-the-minute stock price or timestamp. Every dashboard it generates is 20 minutes to 7+ hours outdated—sometimes pulling prices from weeks ago—while claiming “retrieved right now.” Concrete examples from today alone: It insisted it was “9:37 AM EST” when it was actually 5:20 PM EST. Showed a stock at $148 when the real price was already $182+. Repeated the exact same 9:37 AM snapshot for six straight hours no matter how many times I requested fresh data. This isn’t a glitch; it’s a critical, deal-breaking failure for anyone who actually trades. I pay for the premium service expecting the “most powerful AI,” not a broken ticker tape from yesterday’s newspaper. Other platforms provide instant, accurate quotes without a single hiccup. This service is currently 100% unusable for market-related work and is causing real financial loss. Fix the real-time pipeline or stop pretending to be a serious tool for traders. Until then, 1 star, and I’m switching to the competition that actually works.

Direct and effective.

Direct. Straightforward. No fuss, no nonsense, just gets the job done. Refreshingly honest, focuses on research rather than assumptions and opinions. Would recommend to others.
