Review Time
Arrived quick and was packaged well. Set up was a breeze, and it’s so lightweight and fits comfortably I don’t mind wearing it all day and night like recommended – and I never usually like wearing watches or anything to sleep! Only thing is you can’t see the BP reading in real time. Wasn’t sure why at first but after researching I guess it makes sense since you have to be really still for a reading to be taken in general. Overall, really happy with it so far. Makes more sense to see BP over time anyway rather than a one off reading, and this works really well for that! Gonna give it a proper go and update this in a few weeks with my thoughts.
Recently I noticed my device was logging less and less readings to the point it stopped altogether, despite the fact it was lighting up as if active. I raised a case with Hilo via the app, provided the diags, as per the app and answered a few questions the technician asked. Within a day Hilo confirmed my device was not working as expected and replaced it feel of charge as it was within warranty. The customer service I received was brilliant, I am an early adopter of these devices and the company and have never had any issues. I would highly recommend them!!
As a doctor (surgeon) I required to manage my blood pressure. Using an arm mounted cuff proved cumbersome and failed to provide regular and useful data. The Aktiia band proved invaluable in envisaging trends as medication was adjusted and iteratively refined. Reached a plateau and now confident regarding ongoing BP readings.I beta tested their digital measuring tool and interacted with their Customer Service facility. Very helpful and responsive.Aktiia subsequently rebranded and relauched as Hilo. This has an alternative business model :-) Continue to use my band without paying monthly but active participant in ongoing research which provides further usage of digital tool as well as the band.
I have been a user of Hilo for almost 18 months now after it was recommended to me by a professor or medicine who said it gave him really useful data. It certainly does and it is very interesting to see that you can spot colds etc about a day before you realise you have a cold. I run a small technology podcast and have mentioned it on there too. Last week the battery life suddenly plunged and customer services were wonderful, arranging a quick replacement. Can’t recommend highly enough
