From 1st contact Catherine spent time refining our trip to SA into precisely what we wanted. We could not really fully appreciate that until we actually visited and found ourselves having the nigh perfect trip. It was just one wonder after the other.
We’ve just returned from an incredible 2½-week trip to Kerala, India organised by Holiday Architects and it was absolutely fantastic.After a good chat, Clare created a brilliant itinerary that was perfectly paced and tailored to us. The places we stayed were beautiful and full of character, and we loved how varied the trip was — from the national park, to the backwaters, to Kochi and the beaches. Adi, who supports guests on the ground in Kerala, met us at the airport and in Kochi, he checked in with us over WhatsApp regularly and was always there if needed. Our private driver, Gills was amazing. Always on time, there when we needed him, respected our space. We are so grateful for the support when the Middle East airspace closed while we were away. Clare quickly got in touch and arranged an alternative route home — it was hugely reassuring to have someone taking care of things when travel plans suddenly changed. Our focus was on loving this holiday rather than finding alternative flights home. We received excellent communication from HA; and the care we received before, during and on our return has been the best experience from a travel agency ever, by far. An incredibly well-planned and memorable trip. Its been exceptional. We wholeheartedly recommend Holiday Architects.
We had the most incredible trip with Holiday Architects to Oman a few years ago, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that our children still talk about. The itinerary was completely bespoke and perfectly tailored to our family.Since then we’ve tried to travel with them again twice to Jordan, but unfortunately both trips have been disrupted by international events beyond anyone’s control. The first during the Israel/Iran tensions and now due to FCDO advice not to travel.Throughout it all, Catherine has been absolutely fantastic. She has been clear, calm and incredibly helpful, always available with advice and support. In what could have been a stressful situation, she has been a dream to deal with.Because of the experience we’ve had with Holiday Architects, I wouldn’t travel with anyone else as I know how amazing they are when the holiday works to plan and also how amazing they are when events escape us. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
We booked a holiday to Jordan with Catherine at HA, which was sadly aborted due to the outbreak of war with Iran. Throughout the booking process she was helpful, responsive and listened to our comments/preferences so it was truly a tailor-made itinerary. It would have been a fabulous trip I’m sure. Catherine was equally helpful at explaining our options and keeping us updated when the war started. We were very disappointed not to go on our trip but appreciated her help in navigating the cancellation process. We will definitely use HA in the future.
Dawn Smith, Holiday Architects(HA) Destination Manager – Latin America & Sri Lanka, organised an excellent first visit to Costa Rica tailoring it to our needs (2 people in mid to late 70s) and the brief we gave her. As we didn't hire a car, Dawn organised all tours and transfers. When final arrangements and timings arrived 48 hours before we were due to leave, it revealed a couple of unacceptable arrangements. We immediately contacted Dawn and to her credit she dealt with the issues we raised and the arrangements were altered by the time we arrived in Costa Rica. Very impressive!HA's local agent organised pick-ups and tours, subcontracted to other operators. Impressively, every pick up except one was within 5 minutes. One was just 10 minutes after the scheduled time. Their organisation was impeccable and all the tours were excellent.As to our experiences, we stayed in some great hotels and saw an abundance of wildlife which was our primary reason for going. Over 1,300 photos and videos testify to that. It will take a while to sort that lot out!We had great guides who were instrumental in both finding the wildlife and providing detailed information about the animals. We doubt one would have anything like the experience if one didn't have the guides. So again thanks to Dawn and HA for making this an enjoyable and educational experience. We did get some down time and enjoyed time on the beach, time by hotel pools and a great massage in one of our hotel spas.We did a great deal of research before going and sought answers from Dawn too. There are scores of YouTube videos covering the various national parks as well as the hotels and activities available. We are pretty well travelled but Costa Rica does have its own uniqueness and it is good to understand that in order that your expectations are met.Relatively short journey distances can take much longer than one might expect as roads can be narrow, windy, rough and traffic clogged; speed limits are low and the terrain hilly. Similarly, what may seem like an easy walk to a restaurant and nearby town may prove more challenging than one expected. If, like us, our wildlife ventures have been relatively limited, it is worth pointing out that some animals prefer hanging out high in trees and are difficult to spot and photograph. So set expectations appropriately and you won’t be disappointed.This was our second trip organised by HA and Dawn didn’t let us down.Pura Vida!
We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Vietnam, which was planned with help from the team at Holiday Architects. All in all, it was a great trip, with lovely hotels everywhere, good guides and drivers and all the arrangements working seamlessly. This was our second holiday with Holiday Architects, and on the evidence of this trip, we'll be back - well done!

We have just returned from a wonderful two week holiday in Costa Rica.Being our first time to the country we were guided by Louise who made suggestions and organised everything on our itinerary from start to finish. Everything went totally according to plan, we could not fault the organisation. As a multi destination holiday, all the hotels were brilliant as were the various activities and tours that were arranged. As an added bonus, as we had a long wait between a domestic and international flight home, Louise organised for us to be transported into the capital for a special lunch. All in all it was an exceptional holiday to an exceptional destination. We would highly recommend Costa Rica and Holiday Architects.
My husband and I have just come back from a trip to Vietnam which we loved. Fenton spent a considerable amount of time helping us settle the itinerary, sharing the benefit of his experience about whether something I'd read about would be worth the journey and/or whether it was the best time of year to visit. This avoided us going to places when they might not be at their best & which we can then visit on another trip. We also valued the opportunity to share feedback at the end of the holiday. There were a couple of issues with the information some of our guides shared with us but they were minor. Holiday overall was lovely and we value the input Fenton provided.
