Review Time
BEWARE - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL TAKE MONEY EARLY AND REFUSE TO REFUND.I signed up for a 3 month subscription and gave notice to stop the renewal in good time (earlier than their T&C's requirements). £57 was taken a week early and they refused to refund. After stating they were breaching their own T&C's they agreed to a refund but 6 weeks later I am still waiting. I have received excuse after excuse, or they simply ignore my emails. I have reported them to Trading Standards.
Update 27.11.2023After threatening to raise the charge as a disputed transaction with my bank, they rolled over and gave me a refund of £57. It took just over 3 weeks to arrive but now resolved. If you have been overcharged, do get in touch and get a refund. As other reviewers have written - I have absolutely no issue with the lovely dog sitter I found through Holidogs. She is an amazing lady and loves my dog as much as I do. However - BEWARE THIS MONEY GRABBING COMPANY! As others have written, the autorenewal is a trap. I was intending to pay only for the first 3 months (£57) in order to arrange the single sitting that I needed. That was charged on 20th July. On 13th October I was then charged another £57 with an invoice dated 20th October. I disputed this with them, saying (a) you'd charged me one week early and (b) you didn't notify me of the next charge. As other reviewers have said, they hid behind their T&Cs and said it was non refundable. I pushed back and said I would raise a dispute with my bank. They agreed to a refund and said it would be with me in 10 working days. Guess what - no refund received yet and they are not replying to my emails! Looks like I will be escalating it after all! Just watch out!! If you intend to use Holidogs only once, make sure you switch off autorenew immediately so that they don't have a chance to grab another £57.
I booked a pet sitter - rated as trustworthy by the site. I met her. I then paid. The day before our holiday, she had disappeared. No bookings, no record of it on holidog. You contact them and get no reply. Is this site a complete scam? You book through the site to be protected but what’s the point if they don’t reply, you lose your money and now my holiday is in jeopardy as I race around trying at the last minute to get cover. What a disaster.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY - DO NOT USE.I was paying the £57 subscription fee and I actually paid this twice (every 3 months, on 13th April and 13th July 2023). I turned off auto renew in August but they STILL charged me and suggested I had NOT turned of the auto renewal.I contacted them on the day the 3rd renewal happen and they refuse to refund. I had a reply basically saying, sorry, but tough. I shall post this in as many places as possible but you have been warned..!!I suggest ANYONE who have a subscription with them to end this immediately and contact your bank to block the company..!!Thanks.
If I could give 0 stars I would . I could just say that if the article on the Lost Soul Sanctuary is indicative of the "journalism" on here then I would advise readers to take everything with a very large pinch of salt . A work of fiction .
I would mot trust this organisation they supported a raid on a dog sanctuary in uk council killed 11 dogs on site and took 71 owned snd loved dogs away court case is pending see justice for lost souls 11 fb. sanctuary a reg charity A admin at the council and a known person to this outfit boasts about the kills. This man has been banned from a tv show on bbc for kicking s dog. Holidog have published pictures of fake dogs snd lies about the sanctuary in support if the liar calls himself a behaviourist do not trust this publication find a good trusted person to care for your pet. Check facts not rags
My feedback is not with the dog sitter, but with Holidog as a company. They will automatically sign you up to an automatic renewal of the membership, even though they clearly market the membership on a set period of time. They will not warn you that the renewal has been set up, apart from a line in the initial welcome screen. The first time you realise another 3 months has been taken is when it leaves your account, and when you complain and ask for the money back, they will continually refuse, hiding behind their T&Cs. The membership plus the dogsitters fee makes Holidog a very expensive way to gey your dog looked after. So save yourself money and hassle and go direct, avoiding Holidog.
Signed up for 3mths. Only 2 ppl got in touch. I met both of them one family turned out to be great but other family refused to return my calls despite saying all was OK to contact him. I made a new search for a date that the first family couldn't do- having sent a few messages no replies. Ask holidog to help no joy. Asked for half my subscription back as I had struggled to find a family nothing. I asked hoildog if they update database nothing from them . There's a list of ppl but yet they don't reply. Avoid! Don't bother using this company absolutely ridiculous service or lack of it.
