Scammers! Avoid ordering from this company! Never received my order and when I e-mailed the company for refund repeatedly, different person responded each time telling me to hang on for a little longer and sending me shipment links that never work. It has been over 2 months and nothing from them.
I, like some other people, never received my order. I placed it on April 14th, but the shipment tracking never worked. I emailed them a month later to ask about my package, and they responded within a day, telling me to wait a few more days. Another month passed, and on June 9th, I emailed again but did not receive an answer to this day (June 16th). Now, I have demanded a refund through PayPal since I paid with PayPal. Don't order from here; go with NipponShop. I received my package from them in less than a month.
My first order from their store has been delivered in time without any problems.The second order took over three months until it arrived.When there were no updates on the website of the shipping company for a long time, I contacted Japan Candy Store. The employees contacted the shipping company and got me detailed updates. For some reason the package was held in customs for a very long time.They also offered me to contact them if some of the items have already reached their best before date when the package arrived and sent me a gift code.Absolutely great customer support!
I saved up rewards points for months to get a free snack box only to realize that it was out of stock and they took my points anyway! Also I was pretty disappointed to realize it was just a rescue box and not a regular box from the subscription service. Their inventory is pretty bad with most items having very small quantities available. They should’ve checked this and found a replacement reward once they sold out.Update: TY for sending me a box. Do I have to cancel before the next month? I don’t want to pay for a subscription afterwards
If I could give zero stars I would. Atrocious service, unacceptable waiting times. I ordered a package in early November and my package still hasn’t arrived. It’s February now. I started reaching out to customer service in December already and have been getting generic emails such as “we’re checking with the shipping company every day! We’re overloaded trying to help all our customers!” As if that’s on me as your customer? They refuse to refund or compensate as the items I’ve ordered are most definitely expired/not fresh any longer. Any mention of escalation, compensation or refund is ignored by their support. They also don’t tell the truth, as at one point I was told they contacted customs and that my package has been cleared and is “on its way” this was in mid January and the package is STILL stuck and hasn’t moved since 29th of December. Still waiting for a refund and will update this review if I finally get it. Otherwise, it’ll remain and I’ll say STEER CLEAR if you don’t live in the US. They will not help you if your package is lost.UPDATE: I just went in and checked the tracking site they sent me and have been sending me over and over in every conversation that it’s been “shipping” despite being stuck since December, and the website now says the shipping is “expired” as the package has been lost and been taking too long.They STILL REFUSE TO REFUND. With PROOF.Edit after their response: they say the order is still coming (which has been said for months now) and downright refuse to refund. I ordered EDIBLE GOODS. It’s been FIVE MONTHS. Why would I still want expired food at this point? Oh yeah - I opened a case with PayPal and they made sure to reply ONE DAY before the case would close and I’d be refunded in full with ONLY THE SAME SHIPPING NUMBER. Meaning I’m locked out of my refund and have to. Wait. Again. For another. Few. Months. Oh and they started ghosting me via email! Honestly AVOID if you’re overseas. They’ll take your money over any valuable reputation. No trustworthy company would hold your refund at gunpoint like this if they’re as “successful and overloaded with helping their customers” which was their excuse via email. Disgusting.UPDATE AGAIN 2024-03-10: FINALLY got the package five months later. EVERY SINGLE ITEM IS EXPIRED!!! Even though they PROMISED nothing would be expired, how on earth can you promise this when the package has taken five whole months to arrive? And btw - they STILL REFUSE TO REFUND! Even when every single item (and I ordered 50+ items) is EXPIRED. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Also, the package has been opened, tampered with and touched with, as some items came ripped open and crushed. They gave me a coupon for a plushie. That's it. :) No refund for expired, spoiled, opened and tampered with goods.
