Tried Johnstones moon silver Matt emulsion in our lounge which hadn't been decorated in years, I must say the colour and coverage was excellent with only two coats required.Appeared to apply much better than Dulux which is the brand I normally use but they didn't have the colour I was after.Also had Teal emulsion mixed at Johnstones trade counter to paint an MDF feature wall. The paint was perfect in colour and covered in two coats without the need for any primer.
Used a little of what was left in a tin of midnight sapphire matt, to paint behind a new vertical radiator before hanging so as not to show the original colour between the fins.I had used the paint for a feature wall in my living room which was quite nice albeit with 4 coats.I got another tin to do the radiator wall and it was a complete waste of time.No matter what I do I cannot obtain an even finish. This appears to be a different paint that I bought only two years ago and even the colour was not the same. I am hear to advise so not waste your time on this product, I am not going to call it paint. How can they make an emulsion that when you touch up a little,even the next day, shows up every stroke.
Just wish I had seen and read these reviews ..can't all be wrong and I'm adding to them with what found to be shocking paint ..bought the interior wood and metal quick drying satin urban grey, did all the prep for a radiator aiming do do them all...but I definitely won't be It's absolutely shocking paint never used anything quite like it I've used a lot of paint in my time ..its been quite hard to find a grey radiator paint in the shops so hence buying this one ..never again,...so first coat went on so thin like no colour pigment ..5 hours later second coat it covered better but very random in coverage ..and some parts edges still not dry despite leaving over night . I've given it a good sand and clean removing as much as I can and frence chic smudge has,saved the day . What a difference .. The paint from johstones should not be on sale it's not fit for purpose.... I will be taking it back to bm I want refunding for the paint its cost me enough in time and mess .Update b&m won't refund I have to take it up with paint company ..which I will ...but B&M need to stop selling their rubbish,
I recently purchased a 2and a half litre tin of quick dry glossat a cost of £22from bandm when I came to use it,it was awful. It dried with a matt finish not a shine .like it should have.lt clearly states gloss on the tin avoid johnstones paint unless you have got time and money to waste. I spoke to customer services.and that was a waste of time to
Just purchased Saphire Blue matt emulsion by Johnsons and it is the worst excuse for paint that I have ever encountered. It is like coloured water. Tried to get their head office email and guess what you can't get it from their site without filling in forms. DO NOT BUY THIS PAINT, you will be wasting your money. I don;t expect they will bother to reply to this
Just bought Johnstones gloss paint in white. On the front of the tin it says 'Interior use', but on the side of the tin it says in smaller print 'also suitable for external use'. As it says that it's also for 'external use', I thought that I'd give it a try. It doesn't smell like normal gloss paint, and I'm now having very little faith that it's suitable for outside wood!. This company don't really seem to know what they're doing!. Is it an internal gloss paint, or both internal and external!?
Absolutely awful, purchased white satin paint to paint a banister! First it's goes on like water then four coats later to destroy your soul it peels off with your masking tape like PVA glue! So hours of painting down the drain! Not to include the waste of money and time.
DO NOT BUY JOHNSTONE PAINTHi i recently purchased 3 colours of your paint,white,steel smoke, and manhattan grey,Also purchased your undercoat..The white and steel smoke have gone on well but the manhattan grey has caused nothing but bloody issues.All sanded down well washed and dried, undercoated and painted,The manhattan gry has just peeled off in strips, this has cost a lot of money and i have just wasted a lot of money on paying someone to do the job,i am really annoyed about this.. DULUX IS THE BEST 100%SHAZZA
I've just painted my son's living room with Johnson's grey matt although coverage was about o.k.I wallpapered his fire breast,some of the paste got onto the wall I thought I'd just wipe it off not so the paint just completely rubbed off will have to touch it up.Never had this happen before but I usually use Dulux this is poor quality paint don't use it waste of money.
