Wife painted the kitchen while I was out and have just come home to a house that stinks of rotten cheese and dirty underwear. Absolutely disgusting, not that fresh paint smell you expect. I'll be painting over it with a different brand at the first opportunity and hope the smell clears.
Oh dear - I wish I had read these reviews first. I had used Johnstones paint before and it was really good. However purchased Topaz Teal in August 22 - it is thin and has a disgusting smell. Put one coat on and it looks terrible. Ended up buying Dulux. I've put in a complaint to Johnstones so will see what happens.
Purchased the white emulsion, basically to freshen my room up. What a complete waste of time the paint hasn't even covered the white already on the walls, and to top it off when you touch it, it rubs off on everything. Now having to re-do everything. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH DO NOT BUY
Has to be the worst paint I’ve ever used I’ve mixed the two tins like they recommended but it still coming out different colours how that’s even possible I really don’t know folks don’t waste your time and money I’m on day three of a feature wall and still trying to get it all the same colour and now two tins of mixed paint it’s still different colours don’t buy this rubbish pay the few quid extra and get Dulux
Never used such a poor Paint . Never had an emulsion drip before . Like painting with coloured water . How on earth are these people still in business , probably people like me , that didn't think to review first , like I normally do . Well I'm evangelical about letting everyone I know about how poor their products are . The sooner they go belly up , the sooner people will stop getting ripped off . Wish I could give minus stars
I've never bought Johnstones before - I've always used Dulux, but it was on offer at Tesco so I bought some! What a waste of money! I've already put three coats on and it still looks wishy washy - will be out buying Dulux tomorrow, and that tin of Johnstones will be going to the tip I'm afraid!
Bought the white emulsion yesterday from b&m and after 6 coats still looking terrible. Wish i had read the reviews first. Binned it and off to b&q to get their stuff. Complete waste of money avoid. Would of gave it no stars if i could of.
RUBBISH. As stated in previous reviews paint just would not stick to the wall. The deep shading of roller/brush edge took 5 coats to cover. Although I used sugar soap and new cloth to clean the walls first, I thought it must be a problem with my walls so I re-cleaned walls with just clean water. WRONG it was just rubbish below standard paint. I'm off to wilko my son highly recommended their own brand.
