Review Time
I visited the JCC and was seen by ram. I had been suffering from long term lower back pain. Tan was very thorough with his preliminary examination and also reviewed the notes from my doctor. He explained the procedure for administering steroid injections and we discussed all the relative risk. He was very considerate when it came to doing the injections, making sure I knew what he was doing all the way. Afterwards he showed me the ultrasound images of where the needle entered my sacroiliac joints. It was pain free and I was able to drive home straight after. It took a couple of days to kick in but eased the pain. Due to the severity of my pain a revisited ram 4 months later for a second course of steroid injections. I am now two weeks on and it feels really great to be able to resume normal life again, pain free
I went to see Mr Ramakrishna Rachaputi initially looking for some temporary pain relief for (post MRI) meniscus tears and quite a bit of wear and tear in my knees (ageing Mountain Guide!) He was extremely clear and measured in his advice and explained in detail what the procedure would be and how it could potentially improve things. He was very balanced and honest in his advice. I had both knees, expertly treated, and have had (3 weeks later) frankly remarkable improvements. I’m very grateful, will I’m sure see him again and have no hesitation recommending him.

I have been suffering with shoulder pain for 15 months following a bicycle accident and approached the Joint Care Clinic for ultrasound guided injection therapy as a way to return to my preferred sport of ergometer rowing. My initial telephone call with Ram was reassuringly positive as were the follow up text messages. I had an appointment in Oadby which consisted of an in-depth interview of my relevant medical history, together with a detailed explanation of the three processes which were available to me. The initial ultrasound examination (to locate the source of my problems and to identify the pin-point area into which the injection would be made) lasted an hour. The actual injections were an additional 30 minutes. I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the technician (Ram) and with the unhurried, detailed procedure. I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever of recommending Ram and the Joint Care Clinic. I have, in fact, booked a second procedure to address pain in my left wrist and hand.
Ram was very experienced and professional, but also showed great empathy for my situation. I always felt to be in good hands and at ease. He was very accommodating with the appointments, which took between 60 and 90 min. He gave me hydrodistention treatments for both of my frozen shoulders at a very fair price. Actually, it was the best money I have ever spent. The injections reduced the pain greatly and this made a huge difference in my quality of life, having been in constant pain for over a year. They also helped with the range of movement, which is nearly back to normal for my left shoulder and still improving for my right one, which was a very severe case. I just wished I would have come across him earlier. I am very grateful for his help and can highly recommend him.
After suffering with low back pain for over three years and no interest from my GP , telling me I had wear and tear at 31 ! I got in contact with Ram about a sacroiliac joint injection and could not have made a better decision to have this done by him. The service was thorough and fantastic. After 2 years of suffering from a shoulder problem that included 2 steroid injections and 2 ultrasound scans through the NHS that didn’t find the cause of the pain, I was finally referred to Ram for a further scan. I’ve had pain in my elbow on and off for 18 months. My doctors didn’t seem that interested when I went with my symptoms. A month ago my elbow was in agony, you could just brush past it and I would flinch in pain. As my doctors were useless I decided to do my research and I found Ram. Ram gave me a thorough examination which included ultrasound. Ram diagnosed my condition. Although the news wasn’t great, throughout the examination Ram was so professional, really taking his time, making sure nothing was missed, and describing his viewings whilst watching the monitor. After some treatment and having an ultrasound guided steroid injection, I had instant relief and I am still pain free after a month.
I first went to see Ram in January 2020 with ball of foot pain. He took a lot of care to diagnose the problem and then gave me an injection to relieve the pain. This worked extremely well and I have just been for my second visit after 7 months for a top up. I have never been given this much relief when I visited my previous consultant. I would not hesitate to recommend Ram to anyone with joint pain.
