I own 3 pairs of Jo Mercer shoes. My first pair broke twice within the first two times I had them on. I had to get them changed twice and on the third, I received a refund resulting into purchasing another two. Spent more on a leather pair and got a standard pair. They do not last. They got so loose in less than 6 months, it was like wearing flip flops around. It’s too expensive for such poor quality.
I ordered 2 pairs of loafers. The delivery time was longer than stated, and after 3 months of regular use (mostly indoors), the front sole broke open on both shoes. They sent me a compensation but that was not close to the amount it takes to repair it. Extremely poor quality and disappointing service, you can get much better for the price.
BUYER BEWARE if purchasing sale items!! I have made 2 on-line purchases with this Australian company. The first purchase was for a pair of black pair of leather, heeled boots that I paid close to $300.00 for. That was the original off-sale price. Everything went smoothly & I was happy with the boots when they arrived.
However, some months later when I noticed a sale on their website, I purchased 2 pairs of leather, heeled boots that were on 70% sale. Original cost of each pair of boots was close to $300.00 each so around $200.00 off each pair! Wow I thought, what an amazing bargain! BUT, when they arrived both pairs of boots were faulty. The leather on both pairs of boots were crinkled & creased with one pair being worse than the other. I promptly emailed their Customer Service line to report the fault of only one pair of boots because I figured I would still keep the other pair as I the damage wasn't as noticeable as the other pair. Well waiting, waiting, waiting for a reply came days later implying that faults should be expected when buying sale items. Are you kidding me, to implying that sales are their way of getting rid of their damaged stock! Their website does not advertise this so this was basically my reply back to them. Then more waiting, waiting, waiting for a reply from them & several attempted phone calls to them which were unsuccessful in connecting with anyone. Days later I get a response from them via email about process of return or refund, mentioning if I opted for a refund there would be a $20.00 fee deducted from my refund. I emailed them back saying it was not right that I should be out of pocket for being sent a faulty pair of boots, but got no reply back from them about this fee. Hence, my refund was $20.00 less than what I had paid for the boots. I have literally given this company $20.00 for nothing but a whole lot of stress & disatisfaction. I will not purchase from them again. They are clearly a deceitful company who get rid of damaged stock on sale & this is an abhorrent practice to extract money out of honest people. Such a stressful experience overall & their Customer Service Line is difficult to deal with being elusive & uncaring. I am unwilling to take further risks with my money & dealing with this company again.
I wore a new pair of Raffia sandals for 2 hours and they have started falling apart. The company said it's natural for that to happen and they won't refund or exchange due to wearing them. I would avoid this company and find quality shoes elsewhere for the same price.
Terrible quality shoes. I’ve owned the shoes for less than two years and the elastic at the buckle wore away on both shoes after minimal use. I was told by customer service that the materials Jo Mercer use naturally degrade within that time. One of their shop assistants said it wouldn’t pay for repairs because it would be too expensive. So much for “premium leather shoes made to last”.

I have now bought many shoes from Jo Mercer and generally very happy with the quality. The customer service has been exceptional recently as a design issue caused the strap of one of my sandals to tear. Despite the time since it was purchased, I was offered a credit note. I will certainly be repurchasing from this store.
I was treated in an ageist mannerI made to feel like the shop attendant was doing me a personal favour The shop attendant was condescending towards meAnd the year 2025Omg This is what happened I paid about $220 cash for a pair of shoes and I was advised if they didn’t go with my dress I could return it which I did the next day I chose a different pair of shoes which meant I was supposed to get about $150 back which I asked for in cash The lady asked if I had a card to which I said no Then she spent about 20 minutes getting through sales receipts for the days to see if she had enough cash exasperated I when and got a coffee only to return and have the shop keeper say to me in me in other customers “ We don’t usually do this dear, but I am going to do it for you just this one time.This was said to me in a very condescending manner I was not advised by the lovely lady shop assistant the previous evening that I should not expect a cash return for a cash payment Come-on shop assistant lets respect each other regardless of mPayment type and age and my rights which was to have my refund in cash as shown on the receipts I produced To respect the shop assistant who rudely served me will provide the details to the company via email if they require it so the shop assistant can get some additional costumer service training
⭐☆☆☆☆I purchased a pair of Jo Mercer shoes for $99 on sale they were valued for more and was very disappointed in the quality. After only one day of wear, they were already damaged. When I contacted customer service, I was told this was just “wear and tear,” which in my opinion is unacceptable for shoes at this price point.I expected much better durability and support from the brand. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Jo Mercer shoes.
