Review Time
I’d seen Journee pop up on my Instagram a few times for the last 6 months or so. I think the algorithm heard me when I said I want to travel somewhere new by myself 👀 After a couple of tries with their quiz to get a feel for what they offer…I took the plunge. Booked a 3night/4day trip to an unknown destination. I’ve always wanted to travel completely on my own after I did it for the first time in a group setting. Journee seemed like the perfect fit with their considerations of safety for a woman travelling alone. I ended up in Budapest and had the best time. The activities were a great mix of what I love such as hiking and what I wouldn’t normally book myself for, like the ruin bar tour! I had plenty of time to map out sites I wanted to visit on my own time (with Journee’s recommendations) and the choice of hotel was well located, clean and safe! The airport transfer being a woman was really appreciated as well. This trip was exactly what I was looking for in terms of challenging myself to go somewhere new and experience things on my own. I met wonderful people along the way and would absolutely do this again. I’ve already recommended it to every person who asked me what I did on my annual leave 🤭 makes for a great story! Thank you so much to the Journee community for a fantastic experience! Everyone should try this at least once in their life.
After planning a whole wedding, my husband & I decided to book a mystery trip through Journee and we are SO THANKFUL we did!! We loved every single moment of the trip, from the proposal, to the clues, to the surprise of opening our reveal card, everything was flawless!! What we really loved was the responsiveness of the Journee representatives via WhatsApp. Our trip was to Lisbon Portugal, & right when we landed, the power went out in all of Spain, Portugal and parts of France. We were unable to retrieve out luggage when we arrived and had to return to the airport the next day to pick it up, however, we did not anticipate this being a very long endeavor until we were there. We unfortunately spent the entire day at the airport waiting to pick up our luggage along with thousands of other travelers. I reached out to Journee to inform them of the situation and that we would unfortunately have to miss our planned food tour. I just wanted to keep them informed so they were able to tell the tour company of our unexpected turn of events, but instead, Journee credited our account with $25, AND rescheduled our food tour so we wouldn't miss out, and thank goodness they did, because it was really one of the best excursions!! We were blown away by the generosity of Journee during this time, and raved about them the whole trip. Our excursions were also perfect! We went to Sintra, Caiscais, Palace de Pena, Arribida, evora, plus some more, & ALL of our tour guides were very friendly and knowledgable about the history of Portugal. We even befriended one of the tour guides after the tour and are now able to keep in contact with her as well as see her adventures through the world (she's quite the adventurer!!)Overall, this was THE best vacation that both my husband and myself have taken. We found that the ease of planning and thrill of surprise really made for quite the remarkable vacation. We are excited to book our next Journee vacation!!!!
This was our third Journee trip in 2 years! We had a fabulous trip to Lisbon. Loved the bucket list option as I had never been and really wanted to visit. We had 3 great excursions organised for us with excellent guides who were friendly and passionate about their country. The variety of activities was great and we still had time to explore the city ourselves.
We've just returned from our 3rd fantastic Journee holiday. Everything went smoothly, and any questions we had were promptly responded to on whatsapp (even out of hours when I wasn't expecting a response). Normally an over planner, I love handing the planning over to someone else, leaving the only thing for us to sort being our travel to the airport and to pack (packing list and weather forecast are provided in advance so that you know what to pack). We opted out of clues this time as we truly wanted it to be a surprise, and when we opened our envelope at the airport, it really was a surprise as it was not the country we'd convinced ourselves we were going to from our proposal, and this was exactly the experience we wanted :)When we received our proposal we selected the upgraded accommodation option for a small additional charge, and we were placed in "the most luxurious hotel in [the country]" according to one of our tour guides, and it really was fabulous. The excursions were all good choices, and we really enjoyed meeting other Journee travellers (two solo travellers) and ended up not only spending the excursions with them, but our "free time" for evening dinners and drinks and a taxi to the airport as well. We've recommended Journee to friends and family, and no doubt will be booking our 4th trip ourselves next year too.
This was such a fun experience from beginning to end! I loved the mystery, the months of anticipation, the clues adding to the mystery and confusion and excitement! It was so fun to have no idea where I'm going, reveal the location when I get to the airport, and then I'm off right away to that country.Leaving all the arrangements to someone else was scary but they did such a fantastic job picking out great options. The flights were long but decent and served great food. They picked the cutest hotels at the destination! The hotels were in a good, central location to everything so I could easily walk wherever I wanted.The activities they planned perfectly fit the survey I took and I had a blast! I did a lighter schedule and had a free day built in so I was able to just walk around the city I was in and take in the beautiful buildings and historical structures. Exploring this new place was one of my favorite parts.This whole thing was such a great experience that I'm already thinking about planning another trip next year!One tip I have: Double check the meet-up location with the tour companies. Journee is pretty good about giving you a street address for meeting up with your tours. But if you contact the tour company directly (Journee will provide contact info) they may send you more details about the location such as a map or picture of the meeting location itself.
I absolutely loved my trip to Ireland with Journee. They had everything taken care of and planned exactly what I didn't know I needed for my vacation. I loved the surprise element to the trip and it was so fun for all my family and friends to be guessing where I was going. It felt like it wasn't just a trip for me as it was super inclusive having everyone on board and excited for the reveal.
We had such a great time on our trip arranged by Journee. After several months of planning a honeymoon, we had to cancel due to some politics unfortunately. It left us with less than two months to make a new plan in the same time frame. We heard about Journee, we did our research to see if it was “legit” and we can confirm it is. Not having to plan a single thing and just going with the flow was something we needed so desperately and the folks at Journee did a great job. We had a ton of questions before booking and the team were always responsive and helped us through that process. Once booked we started receiving our clues and we had fun trying to guess where we were going. Some clues were super hard, which felt like a fun and exciting way to lead up to the trip. as we got closer, the packing list was sent and weather shared which made it easy to pack. Once at the airport we found our trip was - we opened our journee passport an Our tickets downloaded on to our phone easily and we were off. Throughout the trip we were left with a good mix of planned experiences and time on our own to explore - they were balanced day to day with more chill experiences and more adventures ones . Everything was easy and all of our guides were lovely. The journey team was thoughtful and booked a lot of experiences with smaller companies with excellent tour guides. Overall we had such a great time, especially not having to make any decisions. Our accommodations were also very nice. The booklet of restaurants and things to see on your own were super helpful. We also had overlap with some other journee travellers which was actually very nice to meet some new people on our trips. Overall it was smooth and easy trip. I will say, this is on us but I think we had a bit too much historical relevance and some of the experiences were a bit too educationall for us then we would like, so I would recommend when you get your proposal you are really keen for the types of experiences selected. Not a huge issue, but we did wish we had more access to our flight info to have in our phones on the way home. There were some delays and minor issues that most would have known through a company app. Very small things though. Overall they were great to communicate with, I was never left hanging and everyone was very kind. The trip itself was thought out and fun and we would highly recommend to anyone wanting to make the leap.

The destinations were spot-on for my travel style, and the overall vibe of each trip perfectly matched what I needed at the time.I love that everything is tailored, down to the smallest details, but without the overwhelm of having to plan it all myself. The mystery element adds such a fun twist, and I really appreciate how much care they put into the lead-up and logistics.On my most recent trip, I had an unexpected family emergency and needed to change my return flight. The Journee team went out of their way to help me sort everything out quickly and compassionately. That kind of support is rare and made me feel truly taken care of.I can’t recommend Journee enough—if you’re looking for a unique and thoughtfully curated travel experience with a team that genuinely cares, this is it.
Things have been insanely busy at work and, as much at I needed an adventure, I'd just not had time to plan anything. I'd seen Journee all over my Instagram and had heard of one person who had been on a Journee, so decided to give it a try. The 'bucket list' feature was what sealed the deal for me. I didn't want to be sent to somewhere I'd already been or be disappointed, so I picked six countries I'd not visited but would be excited to see, so I knew I'd be happy no matter what.To limit the time I spent on planning and not be too distracted from work, I didn't cheat and waited until I was at the airport to find my destination. I was off to Sofia!The whole trip went very smoothly. I was impressed by all the little details like a shared Google Map with recommended restaurants all across the city so you never had to do any research on your own if you didn't want to. The printed, personalised guidebook of all the places I'd see was fun to read on the plane and it even told me which app to use instead of Uber so I could download it in the airport.The trip was smooth and fun with good accommodation and high quality excursions that I would have picked myself. I appreciated the team's responsiveness on WhatsApp, which was very helpful.The whole trip was perfect for a low-risk, fun, safe, solo holiday. I would probably want more control if I was off on a dream trip of a lifetime, but for a fun trip away it was a really great way to travel. All of my friends and colleagues were excited to find out where I'd been. I'll definitely book with Journee again!
