Review Time
I have backed four projects on Kickstarter. Three of them delivered reasonably within target (within a month or so of their target dates), the other one took more than two years. I was sure it was a scam, but they kept updates coming (every couple of months) and then shipped the product out. So I have received 4 out of 4. but the truth is, any project may fail to deliver.
Kickstarter do not seem to be interested in whether backers receive anything for their money. The project I backed raised near $400,000 and the "creators" have been AWOL for months. Emails to Kickstarter "Trust and Safety" get pointless and unhelpful replies (if at all) and they do not seem to have taken any action.

If you’ve already sent a message through Kickstarter and haven’t heard back yet we’d suggest waiting a week and then following up with them again. A creator’s inbox can quickly become overwhelmed, and they may still be making their way through their messages.We know that when a creator is being uncommunicative this can lead to concern and we really appreciate you getting in touch. A fraudsters paradise. Once you put your money in Kickstarter don't give a damn and wash their hands...if a project fails, if a 'creator' fails (which happens an awful lot - jut search), you will lose your money....and Kickstarter will do nothing to help. The whole thing stinks of a scam and actually Kickstarter actually appears to be facilitating, aiding and abetting this activity.
I also have some bad story with kikstarter. I invested in new young project, as I remember it was three years ago and I didn't remember the app but it was scam and as I see now the situation isn't change. I want Kickstarter to proof everything carefully
Despite their claims, when a scam occurs, they disavow any responsibility. Campaign begins, the vendor takes thousands of dollars and then simply walks with all the money; kickstarter claims there is nothing they can do and the only recourse is to contact the individual from a foreign country to get the money back. DO NOT USE KICKSTARTER!!! So far, those who have delivered "rewards" have all delivered sub standard items that cost 8 times or more what they are actually worth. Don't be a victim of this scam.
I will never invest in a Kickstarter project again. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If Kickstarter don’t offer any guarantees for customers then there is no point investing as there are too many projects that don’t deliver the product and are not held accountable. Kickstarter don’t care and are not interested when you contact them.It is too easy for scammers to come on there. In fact if you’re a scammer why wouldn’t you come on Kickstarter as you can get money for nothing. Don’t invest in anything! Kickstarter needs to be shut down for good.
