The Trade Mark Service is not worth it.
Please do not sign up for the trade mark service before you fully understand what is involved. You have to do this on your own. What this company does not tell you is that once you speak with an attorney whether you go through with the service or not you will lose your money and it’s very expensive $809.10. Losing that kind of money at the start of your business is not a good feeling financially. The reason for the one star is for this service only otherwise the rest of the services is okay.
I didn't expect a follow up call after i used LegalZoom service, but I was called first thing in the morning from Jesus who went above and beyond to help answer questions.
LegalZoom is a scam. The company may have started out with good intentions but is has been reduced to a multi-level scam. The initial person that sells you the service, in my case to set up a company, sells you on all the great things, like accounting services, that the approximately $2,000.00 fee will get you, then the registry paperwork they've filed on your behalf is done incorrectly so everything has to be resubmitted and still don't have my documents, the accounting service is, in fact not included in the LZ price and is an additional $3,000 and I haven't even been contacted yet by the company that is supposed to help with web design, I'm afraid to hear how much more that's going to cost me.
I've called LZ with these grievances and instead of speaking to someone in authority, my only recourse was speaking to a very polite, apologetic AI system that had no answers for me, just apologized and wished me a nice day.
Beware of this company, they are not legit.
LegalZoom knew my LLC was administratively dissolved and I hadn't used their services for over a year. However, without any sort of invoice sent to me (apparently they only give information on invoices etc. if you log into Legalzoom...a way of minimizing notice) by email. When I called recently they failed to give me a refund even though I did not use their services. I will never use this company again and recommend that you stay away from them. Frankly, I think they will be replaced by AI anyway.

They were never transparent about the total cost.
In the end, they charged me nearly $240 more than they quoted.
When you try to cancel your service, they won't let you go. They put up every possible obstacle and try to charge you for unnecessary services.
They don't send the forms and try to delay the process so they can charge you extra fees.
Deeply disappointed.
LegalZoom auto-renewed a $99 Registered Agent service on 01/22/2026. I tried to cancel the same day as soon as I saw the charge pending. I originally only used them to form my LLC and didn’t plan on keeping a recurring service. They said a refund wasn't possible because I filled my LLC on 1/23/2025 support team says after 30 days no refund is possible so that's how they get you after a year they will charge you if other packages you opt out of and a year later when the date you created your LLC boom charge. So they can say hey your refund eligibility ON 1/25/2025 is 30 days after that no refunds
When I asked for a full refund because I canceled immediately and didn’t use the service, they only offered a partial refund if I kept it active. I declined.
Because they refused to issue a full refund, I filed a dispute with my bank and submitted multiple complaints to the BBB and the California Attorney General’s Office. It’s not just about $99 it’s about how renewals are handled and how sneaky they are and making sure customers don't get hit with unwanted services
I ordered and paid for "concierge dissolution service" on 4/22/25. After many, many follow up emails to legal zoom over the past 10 months I found out they still have not completed the order. This after being told it would be completed in 30 days by purchasing the premium service. I continue to get the run around.
53 minute phone call, on hold at least 4 times to add a simple service. They do not make it obvious you have to pay extra for document revisions. Unethical upsells and advertising. Would highly not recommend. The reps in the Philippines, like many of them for many companies, talk over you so it's hard and frustrating to get a word in or be heard. Is it because they are reading scripts? Is it also a cultural thing?
Very unprofessional. They said they closed my LLC for me and took care of everything, only to find out 8 years later I have four years worth of fees. $600.00!!! I had to pay $600.00 because of their mistake to the state of Arkansas. And all they had to say was they have no record of me talking to them. That's funny considering somehow they stopped taking payments. I wounder why...because I told them to close it out! I had to pay four years of Franchise fee because they failed to file with the state that my LLC had been closed.
If I could give them no stars I would. I was a few days late on canceling the subscription because my business was dissolved because I had an aortic dissection and could not longer work the business. The subscription renewed a few days before I called and they told me that I couldn't get a refund. I am suffering right now and needed that money. This is ridiculous. I could see if the payment was made months ago. I feel like I just got scammed.
