Embarrassing service. Have been battling a fraud case regarding a Vodafone account which I have never had, they have issued a CCJ to an address I haven’t lived at in years and also issued a warrant of control even after I have written several times to advise that this is a fraud case and that I have reported it to actionfraud.Still, their response was we have a CCJ now so we don’t have to provide any further details. After 3 months of no letters. After all the time and proof i sent to Lowell. Yet they start again. I do not owe you anything. The letter is not even in my name. It has the same surname and thats it. Out of the blue, Lowell sends a collection letter demanding £173.89 for a British Gas bill. I have never had an account with British Gas. I have lived outside the UK for over three years. Have never been reported to a collection agency before. Have spotless credit. This smacks of fraud. All attempts to rectify this matter have fallen on deaf ears. They send form letters and emails in response. It looks like Lowell buys fake debt and/or pursues fake debt. I have reported them to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and suggest others in a similar situation do the same.I have also reported Lowell to The Guardian's Consumer Champion and will share this appalling story far and wide.While Lowell makes noises below that they are responsive, they most assuredly are not. All I have received, besides the false comments below, is a form letter saying they have 60 days to respond to me. I have contacted their CEO by registered mail and still, nearly a month after this nonsense started, have not received a single authentic comment about this scam. I will continue reporting them to every consumer agency in the country.Updated April 3, 2023: Zero response from Lowell. No apology. No acknowledgement how badly they screwed up. I have lived in California for over three years; never had an account with British Gas; Ovo was my energy supplier.Update: May 27, 2023Nobody from #Lowell ever responded to my registered letter accusing them of fraud. They never attempted to defend their position because there is no position to defend. These collection agencies should be banned. They are shameless criminals who waste everyone's time on bogus charges.

I am being chased by Lowell for several 'debts', only 1 of these I agree I owe to the original company. Ive still not dared to try and call them back as yet still, or dare try setting up or logging into an/my/any online acct, or dare try setting it all out to them to and asking them in writing first to firstly prove i owe these debts in the first place let alone now to Lowell! As Lowell have even now in the last 6 months or so started emailing all of my private and legally protected info including my full name and my address now and for last 2 yrs to now, my acct number, the alleged companies i owe these debts to and all the full alleged owed amounts etc to my ex husband of over 15 yrears now to his own personal email address - that even I have never known or had before in last 15 plus years! I was moved out of my last home with only 3 hours notice by Police and CID into police protection and therefore homeless for next 3 months or so for my own safety!! And my ex husband was not allowed to know where im living now! Let alone he now also knows my full address, my alleged debts and amounts Lowell allege i owe and to whom each one is for!! And my lowell acct number etc! Ive had to let police know and ive been informed i must also now report this dangerously seriously for me now breach of gdpr and all my protected personal information and where im living now! The repercussions for me now, once again due to Lowell breaching my gdpr rights and esp to my ex husband by giving him my full address is frightening to be honest and could seriously now also mean I will need to be moved yet again. You stupid stupid company!!! 😭😥

Not really sure what type of company this isI kept getting texts and emails from them, with my maiden name details, not sure where they would have got those from because I’ve been married 4 years. Asking me to contact them regarding a personal matter, but I don’t understand what personal matter that would be? When I don’t know who they are?She couldn’t answer any of my questions until I went through security questions which I definitely would not give her those because she shouldn’t have them in the first place!
