As a long-standing client of Luggage-to-Ship, having utilized their services reliably over a span of several years, I am compelled—albeit with no small degree of indignation—to issue this comprehensive rebuke following an appalling, wholly unacceptable experience that can only be described as catastrophic in both service and accountability. On May 27th, I entrusted Luggage-to-Ship, once again, to coordinate the shipment of two personal suitcases to myself via FedEx—a process I personally initiated and executed by delivering the bags directly to a FedEx facility. At the time of drop-off, both pieces of luggage were in pristine condition, entirely intact and bore no external or structural deficiencies whatsoever. Let me underscore: I have never once encountered an issue with this process in prior transactions.Upon retrieval of the aforementioned items from my building’s mailroom, however, I was confronted with what can only be described as wanton physical destruction. One suitcase bore an approximately eight-inch gash across its bottom panel—an irreparable laceration rendering the item unequivocally unusable. The second displayed a three-inch compression dent on its upper corner, indicative of aggressive mishandling during transit. These are not cosmetic blemishes. These are acts of destruction.I immediately initiated formal notification to both FedEx and Luggage-to-Ship, inclusive of photographic documentation and a complete incident report. Given that I had also secured insurance coverage directly through Luggage-to-Ship, I proceeded with reasonable expectation that the damages would be addressed in accordance with industry norms and fiduciary responsibility. What followed, however, was a joint denial of the claim by both parties—predicated on the ludicrous assertion that it was my responsibility to have “wrapped” the luggage prior to shipment.Let me be abundantly clear: at no time in the course of my multiyear relationship with Luggage-to-Ship has the company ever communicated, advised, or required that luggage be encased or wrapped in any protective exterior. To suggest otherwise post hoc is not only disingenuous but borders on fraudulent misrepresentation of service terms. As it stands, I have incurred:• $150 in shipping costs,• $300 in replacement costs for the destroyed bag, and• $279 for the irreparably damaged second bag.Total material damages: $729, exclusive of consequential losses, time, and aggravation. It is imperative to note that Luggage-to-Ship appears to take the position of a passive, non-liable intermediary—self-characterizing as a logistical “Expedia”-like aggregator with no operational accountability. This posture is, quite frankly, unconscionable. They actively market and sell shipping services and insurance; to later disclaim all responsibility for those very services is tantamount to institutionalized negligence.I have formally disputed the charge with American Express, and I categorically refuse to remit any payment to this company. Further, I am exploring legal recourse, including but not limited to claims of breach of contract, deceptive business practices, and consumer fraud. The facts and correspondence are being preserved and compiled accordingly. It is my highest recommendation—indeed, my ethical obligation—to dissuade any individual, business, or institution from engaging in commerce with Luggage-to-Ship. They have proven themselves to be not merely incompetent, but structurally indifferent to customer welfare and egregiously dismissive in matters of loss and restitution. Their operational model appears engineered to abdicate responsibility while collecting fees under false pretenses. In sum: RUN, do not walk, in the opposite direction of this entity. Luggage-to-Ship is not a logistics provider; it is an institutional mirage—one that offers nothing but broken promises, broken suitcases, and contemptible customer service.Litigation, if necessary, will follow. I will not be silenced, dismissed, or defrauded by this company!!!”
Signing up, filling forms, etc. with luggage-to-ship was handled well but the courier service was very poor.My luggage was not picked up as scheduled on Saturday morning; not picked up until Monday afternoon, 2 days later. On the delivery end, only 1 luggage piece was delivered on Tuesday , several days later than promised; the 2nd and 3 rd piece were delivered on Friday, all together 10 days later promised. It appears that the luggage-to-ship people do their part well, but the courier service that they depend on are actually not very dependable! This was an international shipment; perhaps nationwide service in US is better.
I shipped 2x 18*18*24" boxes, both around 65lbs from the US to the UK. They charged $141.99 per box, through Fedex, which is far cheaper than going directly through Fedex. I dropped the items at my local Fedex store and they were taken in, shipped through Fedex as expected and arrived in the UK some days after. They updated me promptly, and explained all the customs procedures. Customs can be incredibly complex and catch people off guard, but for shipping personal effects to the UK, it is fortunately quite simple. One thing I will note is that they take ~1 hour to send a label after purchase, so don't purchase right before shipping!Note: I was not paid or compensated for this review in any way. They just saved me a lot of money and time, enough for me to go out of my way to write this!
