I recently sought assistance with shipping my daughter’s luggage from Vancouver to Toronto. I encountered an issue with the Toronto postal code not appearing correctly, so I reached out via the online chat. I was connected with an agent named Tyson, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all my questions clearly and provided excellent guidance regarding the services offered by LuggageToShip. I’ll be using this service again in August to ship my daughter’s belongings back to school in Toronto. Thank you for the outstanding support.
We shipped 3 suitcases to Spain, as we were moving there. We had several iterations with Luggage to Ship over the items lists. The first instruction was to make them very accurate and complete. Those lists were too long. Then we consolidated descriptions. Still too long and detailed. Turns out they wanted one list for 3 bags no more that 20 items long. More consolidating, lists now pretty vague really. We were cautioned about cosmetics and medicines. Customs interpreted toiletries and first aid kit as such. LtS then said we should have known. I think they should have known, they reviewed and revised the list a couple of times. In the end the luggage was returned to the US. I have to fly to the US and check it on the return flight to get it here. I hired them because I assumed they had expertise. They told me I should have the expertise. They rebuffed my request for a refund.
HORRIBLE. Without any other communication from Luggage To Ship, and assuming that my suitcase was shipped (from myself to myself) without incident from New York to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I received an email from a ‘do not reply’ Luggage To Ship email address stating:“ Please be advised that your shipment is being held by FedEx because they were unable to collect the due payment (duty, taxes, and/or other customs related fees) from the receiver. If no action is taken soon by your receiver, your shipment will be returned at your own expense or abandoned in a remote area.”Unbelievable! Zero prior contact regarding duties due and stating that it could be ‘ABANDONED IN A REMOTE AREA’???? The email did not provide a contact email or phone number and only linked the general website for FedEx. It also went on to state that Luggage To Ship wasn’t responsible and isn’t liable. So, basically - there’s a problem, your delivery may be abandoned in a remote place, and we aren’t here to help you. In the end, with the help of FedEx, I learned that Malaysian customs wanted about $40. I easily paid FedEx online and the suitcase was delivered. No thanks to Luggage To Ship - all they did was make it clear that they wouldn’t help me, let me know my suitcase may be abandoned, and throw me into a panic. In the future, I see no reason to use this or any other shipping company - all they did was connect me to FedEx, next time I’ll go direct with FedEx where I’ll get proper customer service and support. Honestly horrible.
I wish we had the great experience everyone else has raved about. Our luggage sat in customs in London for 8 days! No follow up by LuggagetoShip. They were not helpful in trying to resolve the situation. They denied our claim for damaged items as it sat in the ran somewhere. We were advised we were supposed to cellophane wrap the bag. Nowhere in their information says it's a requirement!!! I will not recommend or use them again.
