I purchased a pay as you go esim. However, it was not working when I installed it and I tried to get assistance. After many attempts on their online chat line, I finally got through to someone and a process with a reference number was created. They advised that it would be resolved within 24 hours. It was NOT resolved and I have made countless attempts over the course of 3 days to chat with a live agent and the system keeps timing out. For a supposed communications company, their system and service is dirt poor. I will never purchase from them again!!!

I’m having a major issue with Lyca Portugal. I have been wrongfully charged 15 times, costing me a total of €151 which should have been cancelled and refunded a long time ago, but I have not been able to get in contact with customer service whatsoever for 5 months! I have been emailing customer service and complaints with every detail they may need, with no response. I cannot call the number or get any response from anyone and I continue to be wrongfully charged constantly for Esims.

During my visit to Portugal in April 2025, I purchased a "pre-charged" sim card. After using it for a few days, I returned to Spain, keeping the sim card. In October, I visited Portugal again and decided to recharge my sim card via their app. I used it briefly in October and returned to Spain once more. However, I noticed charges in November and December that I wasn't aware of. When I contacted customer support in Portugal, the representative explained that recharging through the app meant I would be billed monthly on the same payment method. This seems like a tactic to generate extra revenue, and as a result, I will no longer be a customer. Although I didn’t dispute the €16 charge much because the representative was clearly following a script, I requested to cancel it. I recommend using a temporary credit card for any transactions with them.

Avoid this service

During my trip to Portugal in April 2025, I purchased a "pre-charged" SIM card. After using it for a few days, I returned to Spain and kept the SIM. In October, I went back to Portugal and decided to recharge using their app. I only used it for a few days again, but then I was charged in November and December without noticing until now. When I contacted customer service in Portugal, the representative informed me that recharging through the app would result in monthly charges on the same payment method. This feels like a money-making scheme, and I will not be returning as a customer. I didn't dispute the €16 charge much since the representative was just following a script. I recommend using a temporary credit card for purchases with them. I won't use this service again.

Lack of customer support

The company states to email customer support for issues. I've been sending emails daily but only receive automated replies stating someone will get back to me, which never happens. My problem remains unresolved. In response to your message: That is one of the email addresses I've been using, but I still haven't received a response! It's a complete disaster!

The service is just too slow and unstable. It's already 2026, yet the network barely runs at 1-2 Mbps, only occasionally going higher. I will not be using this service again.

Automatic renewal scam

This automatic renewal feels like a scam! It's nearly impossible to cancel due to the lack of customer service. They bombard you with promotional texts that you can't opt out of. I tried reaching the help desk, but there was no response, and no one was available on chat. Ultimately, I had to report them to my bank to reverse the charges and cancel my card to prevent further charges. This has been a huge waste of my time.
