Been with meridian for 2 years was in hospital they gave credit on accountcand order a food delivery for me thiscwas amazing may each week bills always out on time never had problem cheaper than globug recommend then to anyone I rung only had 15 min wait not sure why people say can get through I never had a prblem
We dont even live in our property, evacuated due to flooding and subsequent mould.Since moving out we have been getting power bills as high as when we were living there. But we moved out all of the appliances and it’s gas heating and hot water and cooking.Customer service extremely bad and rude, no reply to emails for days then when we talk to an actual person we were told that we definitely have been using the power and that nothing ever goes wrong with the wiring or the smart meter. How???So stuck with a $400 bill to pay and property is empty???Have a million things to deal with with the fixing of my property and the last thing I needed or wanted was arguments with Meridian.Will be changing companies as soon as I move back in.A bit of kindness and compassion for people in a disaster situation and an offer to get someone over to check the meter would have gone a long way.
We have been trying for a month to get Meridian to contact Top Energy and arrange for our meters to be relocated due to house alterations. They are without a doubt the worst company I have ever tried to communicate with. Emails remain unanswered for days, no reply is ever received and eventually I am told there is no record of my emails. Their Facebook Chat site appears to be only manned intermittently and I am unable to find the Chat link which they claim is shown on their company website. Their phone service, to their credit, does offer a call-back option but there is no indication of how long it will be until they call - so one sits and waits and waits. We finally got a helpful phone call but since then..... nothing. After one month I have not progressed at all. It must take some effort to be as bad as this - an experience worthy of a Franz Kafka novel. We are at a loss to know what to do now. Top Energy are going to try and expedite matters but if that proves fruitless then our only option may be to change our electricity retail provider.
Promised a smart meter upgrade in March, received no comms from them since. Tried following up in April, they eventually responded in May but with no knowledge of the upgrade so I forwarded the letter I received and since then have received no response. Contacted Wells, who told me I had to contact Meridian. Contacted Meridian, who told me I had to contact Wells.
I signed up with Meridian on the 18th of October 2022 as I was moving into a property on the 24th of October 2022. I still do not have power as of 25th of October 2022. The free number you dial will have you on hold for an hour or more without answer (Call logs can be provided). The chat on the website site is unmanned and you do not get a response. When emailing, trying to get connected you are advised to phone the free number. Endless loop with no customer service. I am trying to cancel the pending service, but I cannot get hold of anyone at Meridian.
I'm trying to build a new house - how difficult can it be to get a new power connection? Apparently it is fraught with problems.I first contacted Meridian on the 18th of January 2018 to establish a power connection at my new property. The power was finally turned on around the 18th of June 2018, that's about 5 months.We installed one of those new smart meters, and the electrician sent off all of the paperwork to Meridian - they seem to have lost it as the keep sending me reminders to send in a meter reading. I rang them on Monday to sort this out, spent 30 minutes on the phone to a consultant who understood the problem and was fixing it all up. Today I received another email with another reminder, I rang again and nothing has changed. Very frustrated at this poor performance and failure to follow through. I'm wondering now whether they will solve the problem before they cut the power off.Very close to switching to another provider. My recommendation - avoid using this company if you can.
