I decided to leave a review, I parked at a Metropolis parking garage last month March. When I first encountered an issue, I sought help online, "I need help, I have metropolis open in safari webpage on my phone and it says my vehicle is still there I left at 6pm after spending 1.5 hours there, and it's 11pm as I type this."

It's important to note that this parking garage allows 3 hours for free parking and then charges after. I then wrote this, "the metropolis app says my vehicle is still there when I am home several cities away someone help me it's trying to charge me more."

I had gotten charged $9.99 two times and the app was in the process of charging me again once it sees my vehicle is no longer in the garage. Please note that their app opens on my safari page, on my phone, was still showing a live count that my vehicle was apparently there. You can watch in real time, the timer they have which counts the time once you arrive in the garage and scan their QR code and enter your information.

That evening, I had to cancel my credit card for fraud by Metropolis, re-order a new card to be shipped. Update all my auto-pay accounts that were connected to that credit card. Drove to a grocery store to get a receipt with a date & time stamp showing I was indeed several cities away with my vehicle which should not be logged in their app as "still in the garage", I usually get to bed by 9:30pm and I was managing all this at midnight because I didn't want to sleep with this nightmare situation occurring. I didn't know if Metropolis was one of those scam QR codes and I fell victim.

Complete rip-off and overpriced

Complete rip-off and overpriced. I wasn’t in a busy part of town and they charged me $40 for 2 hours of parking because they conveniently only offer a 12 hour parking option. Scammers.

Automatically charged for the maximum time upon opening a QR code link at their lot

I used their parking for the 1st time this weekend. First lot was fine. Second lot was not. I pulled into a lot, scanned a qr code and, upon selecting my plate number, the time was automatically set to 5 hours with a $36.75 charge. No ability to change the time. Customer service chat claims I pre-selected 5 hours and thus aren't eligible for a refund. Straight up theft.

I have a monthly rental space and an account for both of my cars. I have had multiple charges to my CC on File for other peoples cars in another state. Customer service experience was HORIFFIC and it may be AI cool, BUT this type of ISSUE should never be treated lightly. Whether it is Fraud or Bad AI business models, they should NOT be happening like this has on my account

Purchased a parking pass for a Miami…

Purchased a parking pass for a Miami Heat game through ParkWhiz which said my license plate was my parking pass. The pass had a QR code on it. Weeks later, I get a bill for $65… $9 for parking and the rest in fees. I called and got a foreign agent who told me to click on the text they just sent me to send proof that I purchased a pass because they can’t access 3rd party parking purchases (for their own lot!). I told them I was not texting them and they said email. I refused both and told them I don’t know if they are a scam. I asked for a physical address to send a picture of the purchased ticket. They said they don’t have one! I asked for a person in the United States. It took 15 mins to get a rep in the US. I asked for a physical address because I don’t trust this whole process. She put me on hold for 5 mins and came back and said they don’t have one and she didn’t have access to 3rd party purchases to confirm mine. She offered to waive the charges since this was my first “offense”. She told me to find an attendant and make them scan the QR code next time. There was no attendant. Total scam! They have numerous lawsuits against them!

Even 0 if i could

Even 0 if i could. Why I’m obligated to provide my personal info to pay for a parking? Such as my phone number my name and my email? If i don’t want to or if i just don’t have it?

Horrible

Horrible! Visited Kings Plaza in Brooklyn today, oh my, only if I would knew this scamming company took off parking on Plaza. Never ever again! I would rather circle for even another hour and would find a spot around but not with this scamming company. They charged me for time accordingly - $5.00 + another $9.99 & $ 1. When I asked why, they told me this is standard banking authorization used to confirm that your payment method is active when you enter a Metropolis location. Pre- authorize fees. But I never approve it at first. And they told me now I have to wait 1 - 8 business days to get MY money back. So, they charged me without my permission = steal my money and put me in waiting line. Try to imagine how many ppl going through it every day, $10.99 × 1000ppl = $10.990 they easily may make a day, wow, what a scam!

It should be illegal to charge someone…

It should be illegal to charge someone for simply driving through a garage. I’ve been getting charged for parking in the garage that is attached to my apartment complex. I have permission to park there, but continue being charged by metropolis. And their support is dense. This type of company is the beginning of the end of orderly society. Some tech company across the country is making money by “guarding” a garage they’ll never set foot in. Charging people without them ever handing over their card should be illegal.

If you see a parking lot with the sign…

If you see a parking lot with the sign “Metropolis” get out ASAP. This company took over a lot we used to park in often. When arrived, the gate would not lift, leaving us sitting there for five minutes with cars waiting behind us. By now we were late so were forced to rush. After our event, it took nearly an hour to leave the lot because the gate or the app were malfunctioning and people could not exit. We were charged $13.00 for the time we were in the lot which ADDED the hour we were sitting trying to exit. I have also discovered that this company will track your vehicle indefinitely after you park there once z DON’T DO IT!!!!
