I bought Office back in 2013 and…

I bought Office back in 2013 and expected it to continue to work, but no, it wont allow me to reinstall into my new laptop. Yes, I could buy another version but when they overcharge to the extent that its almost a rip off - why should I. Ive even allowed them to control my desktop to get it installed and even they gave up. I will never buy office again. Maybe this review will get it installed - but I very much doubt it. I decided to try one last time, different agent this time went straight in and sorted it all out immediately. Conclusion:- It all depends on who you make contact with, some agents are efficient, some are downright incompetent

Returning Products From Ireland

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the experience I had returning products from Ireland and the subsequent poor customer service, and wanted to make everyone aware of this.I initially purchased a Surface Pro and keyboard, as Microsoft had heavily promoted a no-questions-asked return policy. After using the products for a few weeks, I decided they were not suitable for me. I initiated a return and sent the products back to Microsoft.I dropped off the products at my local collection point on May 27th, and they were received by Microsoft on June 3rd. One week later, I received no updates from Microsoft, and my shipping label on my account indicated that it had expired. I contacted Microsoft, and they assured me that I would receive my refund no later than Friday, June 13th. However, this did not materialize.I made another call the following week and was informed that I would receive the refund by the end of the next week, which was June 20th. By that evening, I had not received anything and initiated a chargeback request from my bank. Remarkably, at 1:00 AM on June 21st, a refund was initiated. As of writing this on June 26th, I have still not received my refund. I received another support email on June 25th, which essentially informed me that I had initiated a chargeback request and to contact my bank for further assistance. However, the email did not mention my refund.I followed up with a call to support this morning, where I was left on hold for 20 minutes while they reviewed my support ticket. During this time, I was rudely informed that it was my bank that I needed to contact, as Microsoft had initiated the refund and there was nothing more to be done. When I inquired about the chargeback request email, the support representative did not understand what a chargeback was and stated that they were unable to read the email because it was sent by another team. They informed me that if I wanted someone to discuss the email with me, they would have to call me back later in the day. Therefore, 24 days after returning my products in perfect condition, I am still awaiting my refund. If anyone has any suggestions to resolve this issue, please let me know. At this point, I simply want my money back and to avoid dealing with Microsoft products in the future.Thank you,

Characteristically unusable

After a decade of successfully avoiding the hellish mire that is anything touched by Microsoft, my mother goes and buys a laptop with Windows installed (against my advice). After 1 week of use it forgets her password and locks her out. My sister confirmed the password was correct. Queue the family IT guy. I had to wipe the computer and start over. I then told my mother to never call me again with any issue with anything Microsoft related. As someone who works in tech, I exert every ounce of influence I can at work and at home to steer people clear of the Microsoft mire.

Microsoft Designer - Avoid

1. Poor at following instructions. It can take several hours and dozens of prompts to get an image close to that you actually want, and it then has to be blended or photoshopped to make it usable. If the prompt is vague and you don’t mind what’s produced, it’s great.2. The AI cannot count. Ask for three cars, six cats or eight flowers and you may get a hundred cars, one cat and twenty flowers—or a tractor a dinosaur and a bunch of bananas. 3. The AI has no concept of relative sizes. If you ask for a giraffe and a rabbit, the rabbit could be represented larger than the giraffe. 4. It has no idea of relationships, so any locative prepositions (before, after, behind, inside etc) will be ignored. Ask for one person walking in front of another and you may get them reversed or side by side.5. The size of image requested seems irrelevant. Ask for wide and it will simply do as it likes and leave the edges plain or fill them in with a random colour. No amount of requests for ‘wide screen’ or ‘fill the frame’ make a difference.6. For specific images, it is simply not clever enough to understand detailed prompts and so substitutes nonsense, like adding in extraneous backgrounds and random items. It inserts misspelled versions of the prompts onto the image. If asked for a cat and a duck, you may get cats with duckbills, or ducks with claws and whiskers. 7. Changes style as it pleases – photo-realistic, line drawing, black and white, vibrant pen and ink - with no discernible pattern and no means of maintaining a style if several images are required in a similar style, even if the prompt remains the same and only one or two details change.8. The cut-out and erase tools are poor. The cut-out tool is amateur; the erase tool crude, and it is frequently denied when MSD decides it can’t erase the thing you want removed.9. Frequently claims prompts have violated generation guidelines despite their being decent, accurate and utterly innocent. That says more about the way the AI has been trained than it does about the creator writing the prompt. It doesn’t matter how you rephrase (using every known synonym, paraphrase and alternative known to man OR AI) it still come sup with its standard and inaccurate response “Content wasn't generated because your prompt includes wording that may be in violation of Designer code of conduct. Please change your phrasing and try again.” 10. While users are encouraged to provide feedback, it is a pointless time waste To respond to every poor image, mistake, and error would be a full-time job. In addition, feedback is clearly not acted upon as the same problems persist. 11. Any prompts that mention a young woman, a princess (for fairytales) or girls, usually return the kind of images seen in girlie magazines, even when you ask for the image to be suitable for children. The AI has been trained to show women as sexual objects. 12. Trying to contact Microsoft to ask for help is hopeless. Average wait time 2 hours (turned out to be three and twice they dumped my ‘chat’ saying the issue had been resolved when I hadn’t chatted or spoken to anyone). In the end I put in a new request for a callback; by the time they contacted me it was late at night and I missed the call because I’d gone to bed. Extremely poor customer services. If I had an alternative, I would ditch Microsoft tomorrow.

I wish I could give them a zero

I wish I could give them a zero. HORRIBLE customer support. I've had an Office 365 subscription for over 10 years and it automatically renews through the App Store. It renewed again this year but despite having paid for it, the software is telling me I don't have a current subscription, so I can't print or save from anything withing this package. Repeated attempts to get their automated system to fix it failed, so I gave up and tried to get a person on the phone. After 90 minutes of trying, I finally did. He took down all kinds of information then transferred me to someone whose Indian accent was so profound I could not understand him. Without a word he transferred me somewhere else. They have my money. I want what I paid for.

I wish I never got a microsoft account

I wish I never got a microsoft account. It is impossible to recover an account and Windows is a horrible operating system. Not to mention there is no customer service! I will never recommend microsoft or any related products.

Surface floats to the top

Am on my 5th Microsoft Surface product - they make the best in the world. I've tried everything else and for the price, the quality is amazing and I love the portability. I feel like I have an office wherever I sit.
