I am very disappointed with Mint Mobile service. My phone has been showing SOS and no network for many hours. I contacted customer support, but they kept asking me to restart my phone even though I had already reset network settings and deleted the eSIM. They told me there is an outage in my area and asked me to wait 24 to 48 hours. This situation is very stressful because I cannot make calls. There has been no improvement, and it feels like they are doing nothing to resolve the issue.

I had a very poor experience with Mint Mobile customer service. In the process of changing phones, they managed to disconnect the old phone and not connect the new one. Seemed like a easy fix; it was never fixed. Over a week of trying to get help, I spent many hours fighting my way through AI and long waits for customer service. Most of the reps were friendly, but none could help. Writing "a ticket" didn't get me to anyone who could help. 2 Missed deadlines to call me back (I had to sit around my son's house since I had no phone). Finally, I was told that my account would be blocked for 30 days. When I told the rep that this was unacceptable, he hung up on me! Now with U.S. Mobile, so far so good! When my phone worked, I got adequate, though no great, coverage through Mint Mobile in the SF Bay Area. Had they made an effort to help me, I probably would have stayed with them.

Their "high speed data" is also slow AF and a pain in the butt. Never again. Go to US Mobile, I'll pay 3 dollars more but the speed is so much faster and they don't scam you over at US Mobile.

Service is good, customer service is sparse. It's important to know that when you pay up front, as I just did for a year of service, that if you need to cancel for ANY reason Mint will not refund any part of your payment after seven days.

On 2.10.26 I read Mints reply and called the number as I was asked to do. Your agent gave me the same response, that there is nothing I can do to get a partial refund. All that this call did was to waste more of my time and make me angry.

Hard to believe that I'm going into my third month without the MINT service I've already paid for! Six months into my one year contract, my phone went down and I lost my service! Three months and dozens of calls to MINT later I still haven't had my service "reconnected!" They have verified my account, me and every subsequent phone I've put a new SIM in. But nothing has worked! Now I have tried buying a whole new MINT plan and SIM to see if that works? This cost an additional $45 to the $360 (full year) I have already paid! And MINT, don't ask me to call your Help line again! I have already called 30+times! And nothing has worked! P.S. MINT is NOT a phone company, therefore they have NO service centers! And their heavily accented support staff are 6,000 miles away! You have absolutely NO customer support with MINT!

Yes I understand this service is cheap, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t work. I can’t even use my data outside of WiFi because nothing loads. Half the time I don’t even get 5G it’s LTE. I have chatted in so many times I get the same copy paste response. “There’s a known service issue in your area, we are working on it.” It has been MONTHS. Multiple attempts at getting it fixed. Nothing ever changes. I asked if I can cancel because I’m fed up and they tell me no. They suck you in by having the yearly rate be $15, you save so much so you bite the bullet but as soon as you do you’re screwed. No refunds even when it’s a them issue. Absolutely sham of a company, I will never renew with mint again and anyone I’ve recommended it to, I am so sorry never again. I guess I’ll have to cancel and get a chargeback from the bank. Absolutely pathetic. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They do not care! Once they have it you’re done.

I switched from Verizon to Mint Mobile over a year ago for better value, and while the network hasn’t been perfect, it’s been good overall. Calls generally work fine and day-to-day service has been acceptable, which is why this whole situation has been so frustrating.

Since October 30, 2025, I’ve been unable to purchase a replacement phone as an existing customer due to what appears to be a checkout issue on Mint’s website. Every attempt to buy a device-only phone fails during checkout and the order gets auto-canceled or auto-refunded. I’ve tried multiple browsers, multiple payment methods (credit cards and PayPal), and confirmed with my bank that nothing is being declined. The problem is clearly on Mint’s side.

I’ve spent well over 12 hours on calls and chats with support, including Level 2 and internal escalation. I was promised a callback that never happened, and I’ve been given different explanations depending on who I talked to, including being told it was just an address issue, which doesn’t line up with the later failed orders using correct information.

Because Mint won’t allow me to complete the purchase at the advertised sale price, I’m now stuck using an older phone that doesn’t support 5G. That has directly hurt my coverage and reliability where I live, and it shouldn’t be this hard to simply replace a phone.

I’ve filed FCC and BBB complaints, but I’d still rather just hear from someone at Mint who has the authority to actually fix this. I chose Mint over Verizon for a reason, and I want to stay — but customer service and purchasing need serious improvement.

Update: Mint Mobile responded publicly asking me to call customer service again. I’ve already spent over 12 hours on calls with that same number, including Level 2 support and internal escalation, without resolution. Redirecting me back to the same support loop does not address the issue. I’m still waiting for contact from someone with the authority to resolve the existing-customer checkout block.

I have a brand new phone from them that I can't even use because nobody that can do anything ever calls!! What a joke of a company!!!

Here’s my update regarding my experience with the service: I suspect their operations are inactive! I strongly advise against purchasing any phone service from them. After two months filled with deceit and confusion, I finally received a SIM card (which is necessary for connection). However, upon installation, it showed as 'unauthorized!' I made four additional calls, and during the fourth call, my account was supposedly verified again. Yet, with no further information, the representative abruptly ended the call! Before I escalate this to my legal team, it seems there’s only one resolution: either send me a new phone with the SIM activated with my number, or I will file a $20,000 claim with my legal representatives.

Frustrating Experience with Hotspot Issues

The hotspot feature on my phone has been non-functional for a month and a half due to a reception issue, and after a lengthy and frustrating interaction with the customer service team, they finally acknowledged their responsibility to resolve the issue. However, the journey to reach this point was challenging. While trying to address the problem with chat agents, I was subjected to extensive troubleshooting sessions, each lasting at least 45 minutes. The agents were inconsistent and had significant communication difficulties, even in writing. I went through this process three times, each time being informed that the issue was with my device. After the second attempt, I visited a local support center, where they confirmed that my device was functioning properly. Following the third attempt, I purchased a new phone, suspecting an internal hardware issue, but that did not rectify the problem. During my third round of troubleshooting, the chat agent again insisted the issue was on my side. None of the agents informed me that I could escalate my case; I had to learn this through external sources. I returned to the support center to ensure my new phone was correctly set up and then engaged in yet another chat. After starting the same troubleshooting process, I was told there had been an outage, with no clear resolution timeline. Following advice from external sources, I called the customer support number. The agents I spoke to were similarly inconsistent, dismissive, and hard to understand. I was placed on hold multiple times, and calls were disconnected, forcing me to restart with new agents. Eventually, someone escalated my case to a higher team, indicating they would call me back. However, I couldn't schedule this callback, and it felt random. They did not follow up, and I had to continually reach out to the higher tier team. When they finally called back at an unexpected time, the agent's tone was unprofessional, and once again, the assumption was that the problem lay with me. When I attempted to follow their troubleshooting steps, I was disconnected again, with no follow-up. Finally, I reached out to a higher tier agent, who adjusted the phone to connect to a different tower, resolving the issue at last. In summary, due to the service's inefficiency, I lost a month and a half of hotspot functionality, spent three days troubleshooting, and incurred $600 for a phone I didn't necessarily need. If you were in my position, would you continue with this service?
