I find it incredible that I paid £45 for a copy of my register of title to my property, which i was ok with. I then got an email from you stating there were further documents connected to the property with regards to covenants/boundaries and if i was planning on selling the property i would need copies of these documents.i rang your adviser and was made aware that there were further documents and the cost would be £72.00. I felt i had to pay this to ensure i had all the adequate documentation. when the 2nd documents came through it was a one page boundary photograph. I find this totally unacceptable and this should have formed part of the documents i received for £45.00. this is just causing home owner unnecessary costs and then scare mongering people into believing there are scammers about with a 3rd email requesting i sign up to a property alert? to protect me from scammers. I feel like i have already been scammed paying out £117.00 for 2 electronic pieces of paper.Dear lynn,We have seen an alarming rise in the number of queries we receive about fraudulent activity relating to properties. Recent news reports, including coverage on Rip Off Britain by the BBC, are highlighting how property fraud is skyrocketing. People are losing their homes without even knowing, leaving them devastated and with little recourse. The HM Land Registry has launched a Property Alert Service, a proactive solution to protect your property and prevent you from falling victim to these scams. This service is currently the only way to stay on the safe side and ensure your property is safeguarded against fraud.
This company fraudulently make you think you are dealing with The Government Land Registry. Their site looks like the real thing and only if you read the small print do you realise they are not. They charged £55 for copies of my Land Certificate which would have only cost £14 direct from Land Registry.More importantly the copies provided were 9 months out of date and useless for my purposes. They do not warrant even one star in my opinion. Further to the response from OLR can i just add that I am surprised that you cannot trace my order as you have been emailing me regarding this matter. Perhaps not wishing to publicly responding to my comments.
Website is misleading and does not show that this is NOT the official UK government land registry site until after an order has been placed. I have immediately contacted them asking for my order to be withdrawn and a refund made and all my details removed from their systems. I checked all the FAQs before ordering so I believe there is deliberate intention to mislead, do not use this company. Order No. 1381181 and. Refund request which was denied. Charged £36 for something that cost £7 from UK Gov Land Registry website.
Contacted company to change tenancy on our deeds thinking they were a government body as they .org my mistake. They charged me £540 to change the tenancy on the deeds 30 minutes after paying I contacted them to cancel, it was 16.50 they close at 5. At 9.07 the following morning they responded then refused a refund as work had already be started, that comprised of sending a form in the post. I had realised I was not dealing with HM Land Registry who would change the deeds for free. They are refusing to reply to my questions on how they justify £540 and what work had been carried out in 47 minutes that warranted £540.Stay well clear of this company they are a complete rip off!!!
