I booked a one-way flight from Nigeria…

I booked a one-way flight from Nigeria to Ghana through Orbitz. I showed up at the airport and was told at the counter that my name is not coming up in the system, so I was not allowed to fly. This was way back in December. It is March and I am still trying to get my refund. I will not fly with this airline again.

Dishonest and con-artist tactics

I have used Orbitz many times, but this past week's experience has led me to cut ties with using their services. I booked a trip and had to cancel. I was given flight credits. When I went to use the flight credits I was still charged. This meant that I was not allowed a refund for my $400 tickets, and given a credit, but then charged $150 to use my flight credits. If this is not some unethical sneaky thing I don't know what is. In closing, I ended up paying $550 for my new trip. If you are going to use Orbitz, make sure you are 100% sure your plans are confirmed and set in stone.

Complete desaster

Complete desaster. I call them to added a second last name to my reservation and they supposed to check the airline policies and they are not allowed to make changes and I lost the ticket or go like that to the airport and try to board. i never hear something like that, I called the airline and they say that information is completely wrong, the agency should. I called them back, they said again they can't do anything. I call the airline for the second time and they say that is no normal, they should know how to proceed, calle them and make a 3way call and I'll explain them how to make the change. I called for 3rd time to orbitz to the English line and the guy send me a form to complete. After 4 hours of my time waisted, I hope they will do it. Terrible experience!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. No consideration for circumstances of the customer. They want to charge over $3000 for a change to a flight (that only cost $1600). The change is due to a death in the family. Spoke to the airline who do not charge anything but the fee which is $200 and I am more than happy to pay. Orbitz are not able to help and get this changed to accommodate the funeral date by 1 day. Totally inconsiderate and unwilling to help

We were tricked into a windowless room so watch out

We were tricked I feel because our rooms have no windows or any space to hang clothes up. The locks are practically non existent. I don’t feel safe leaving my stuff in the room bc I don’t trust the locks. But the window or lack of really pissed me off. Where did the information about the room state no windows? My husband didn’t see it. It should have been in bold Capps that the room was windowless. There was only decaf coffee. No shampoo or conditioner. And no freaking windows. So pissed. Then we had difficulty canceling another room bc we got the wrong town. Supposedly we should know within a couple of days. Extremely disappointed with this ‘room’.

CANADIANS BEWARE

Was charged in US funds - NO WHERE ANYWHERE ON THE SITE OR ON MY RECEIPT does it say the charges are in US Funds. They are scamming Canadians and other countries. They are SCAMMERS. I paid over $500.00 more for my flight and rental car then I would have had I just stayed with a company that I knew and trusted. This company CANNOT BE TRUSTED. They will NOT listen to reason and will not help me in anyway shape or form. To boot, I was charged an additional $7.79US Expedia charges? I was not told I would be charged this, i was not given a receipt for this. It just shows up on my credit card.

Clueless Agents

I booked an international flight from US to Morocco. The booking agency (Orbitz) is responsible to aid in seat selection. At the time of booking, the flight from the US to Morocco had no seats selected. I contacted the Moroccan flight agency. They tell me I have to contact American Airlines, because for international flights the Moroccan airline is acting as a subsidiary. I call American Airlines, and because they were booked through a third party (Orbitz) American charges $100/person to assign a seat. I call Orbitz, and the agent COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE CLUELESS! "We don't know how to change the seats after the reservation (?!?!)". So back to American Airlines, and I'm out $200 just to choose seats for a flight that cost me $4500 to begin with! Moral of the story: DON'T BOOK WITH ORBITZ, YOU GET NO BETTER DEAL, BOOK WITH THE AIRLINE DIRECT. THEY PROVIDE REAL SERVICE, AND COULD HAVE GIVEN ME THE SAME OR BETTER PRICE. These guys provided nothing, and in the end even shrugged taking the responsibility for changes that they were actually required to do. NEVER AGAIN!

20+ year Orbitz customer and I deleted my account

I've been an Orbitz customer for over 20 years. Until today, it was the FIRST site I went to book all my travel. I booked a rental car about 25 days in advance for a tentative trip. Upon booking, my CC was charged the full price of the rental. Upon reading the email, it stated it was non-refundable. I immediately contacted Orbitz less than 1 minute after the reservation was made. After 1 hour and 44 minutes, 3 escalations, and being "disconnected" 2 times, they continually quoted me their policy, and referenced the fact that the email they sent confirmed it was non-refundable, and I was told they there was nothing they could do.I went back into the site to re-check what I booked and discovered they offered the EXACT same reservation with a refundable and non-refundable option RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER, for a $30 price difference.I called Orbitz back and protested AGAIN. I spent another 90 minutes asking to change the reservation to the higher amount but make it cancellable. They refused but then offered a 50% refund.I gave up and accepted the partial refund, gave up the $122.50 "cancellation fee, deleted my Orbitz account, and filed a dispute with Visa.The cost of my time, their customer service people's time and the loss of me as customer cost FAR more than the $122.50 that they essentially "stole" from me.
