I signed up for PDF Guru because the website offered a R$5 trial for 7 days. During the payment authorization through Open Finance, the screen only showed the R$5 amount for the trial.

After the trial period, I was unexpectedly charged R$119 for an automatic renewal, which was not clearly presented during the payment process.

This feels like a misleading subscription trial conversion, especially since I did not use the service after the trial.

I contacted customer support requesting a refund, but they refused and only referred to their “non-refundable policy”, without considering the circumstances.

Charging a high subscription fee after a very low trial price without clearly highlighting the renewal amount creates confusion for customers.

I hope the company reviews this situation and provides a fair solution.

That’s a scam, they took 50$ from my bank account even I purchased only 1 week by 1 $. There was not any sign referring to a larger plan! I emailed customer service and they refused to refund although I explained that I don’t need it and I didn’t purchase!

Don’t ever use this site. They are scam artist. You select one time payment for one damn file and they start charging you 50 bucks a month even though u selected one time payment. Then the automated support email is full of shit Nd you have to constantly refute secondary withdrawals from you account after they tell you they cancelled your subscription. DO NOT EVER USE THIS BULLSHIT

Honestly, I didnt read the terms and condtions. You sign up for a free pdf tool, then its stings you for 99c. Fair enough thinks me, thats not a lot. But then they auto subscribe you to a $50usd/month subscritpion! $50 a month!

They know what they're doing. The money comes from the mug punters, not the actual propduct. Always read the fine print at the very bottom of the email - It states "You will be automatically charged $49.99 each month until you cancel by reaching out to our support team at: help#pdfguru.com

Our terms and conditions and privacy policy

This is a transactional email. We are obliged to send it by law in order to notify you about your important actions on our product."

Signed up in order to change one document and had to sign up for a 7-day free trial. Forgot about it and didn’t get any reminder that my free trial has ended and I would now be charged 49,99$ which I noticed was charged from my account. Immediately reached out to them and said that this was utter bullshit and they came with excuses and send me to their refund policy page, after reading it it had a statement that as a EU citizen you have 14 days to back out and get a full refund. So I emailed them back with a picture of this and now supposedly my moneys on its way back. Scam company that obviously gets it money from people not knowing their rights. DONT USE THIS AT ALL.

I requested cancellation with one simple ask: confirmation email.

What happened:
Response 1: "No subscription exists"
Response 2: "Already cancelled"
Response 3: "Cannot provide documentation"
Each contradicted the previous. None provided what I asked for.

What I was asking for:
The same confirmation every other service sends automatically:
- Netflix: Sends it
- Spotify: Sends it
- Adobe: Sends it

What PDF Guru said:
"Can't provide that for security reasons"
That's not a security issue. That's basic customer service.

I was polite. I provided all requested information. I followed their process.

Still couldn't get proof of cancellation.
Had to disable my entire payment method. Only reliable solution.

I did everything right. They refused standard documentation. That's deliberate, not accidental.

Use virtual cards for this service.

AI Overview
Based on numerous user reports and reviews, PDF Guru (*email here*)is frequently described as a scam, primarily due to deceptive, "dark pattern" subscription practices. While the website offers functional PDF tools, it is widely criticized for trapping users into high-cost, auto-renewing subscriptions.

Here is a breakdown of the issues reported:
Primary Complaints
Deceptive Pricing: Users report signing up for a "$0.99 or $1.99 trial" to edit one document, only to be charged a high, recurring fee (often $49.99 or more) a week later.
Hidden Subscription Terms: Information about the automatic renewal into a high-cost monthly subscription is often not transparent during the initial, low-cost purchase.
Difficult Cancellation: Many users report that cancelling the subscription is difficult, with some stating that the "cancel" button does not work or that they were charged even after cancelling.
Refusal of Refunds: Despite offering a claimed "30-day money-back guarantee," users report that support agents often deny refunds and instead offer to extend the subscription or provide a "lifetime" deal.
Multiple Charges: Reports exist of users being charged multiple times or charged for a subscription they did not authorize.
