Review Time
I owned Vantage V. It was initially functioning well for surfing and various triathlon activities. However after a year or so it developed a battery issue. I returned it to Polar and was charged over £200 for the repairs. A few weeks later it developed similar issues and they replace the whole watch. After just a few more weeks it has stopped working again. This time they have said that it has taken in water and they want another £250 to repair it. Obviously I challenged this and was told that it is only water resistant not waterproof and that if any of the buttons are pressed when wet, that it can take on water. I hadn’t pressed the buttons, but this lack of resistance for watch that is supposedly designed for water based activities seems far from fit for purpose. The customer support is dreadful. I have Gramin products and have always received far better customer service. My advice would be to stay away from Polar.
Polar user for several years now and decided to go and purchase directly from them.DO NOT REPEAT MY MISTAKE!! JUST SIMPLE - NO. Not just their customer service is poor but when you are clearly unhappy they are sarcastic and mostly unhelpful. Absolutely shocking.
Really quite shocked with Polar. I bought a new Heart Rate Monitor last November and it started to give erratic readings. Clearly still in warranty I sent it back in to get checked over. Today I got a bill for GBP20.00 without any explanation. Having queried it, I got a reply from Taylor saying that my strap showed excessive wear and tear?! It doesn't - I've had it for 8 months and it's used for running? How does one wear and tear in this time?Apparently I need a new strap and it's upto me to pay for it - they also hold you to ransome, stating unless you pay it in 3 months they will dispose of the product.Honestly, in an age of good service, I will never buy Polar again - really cannot blieve they would treat customers like this. Garmin, I'm sorry I ever left you!NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER
The watch is good but it doesn't sync with the polar flow app. This is an expensive watch and the features cant be used which renders it pretty pointless. Polars default response if you get one is to tell you to basically pair/reboot your phone and watch everytime you want to sync and even then it rarely does. If you read this and get one and it doesn't sync, you were warned. Buy something else if i were you.
After just over 2 years of use my M460 GPS cycle unit has a very short battery life (4 hours instead of claimed 12). It was sent away for inspection...£99 to repair!! Surely under UK law stipulating that a product should give adequate service for a period of time commensurate with correct use etc? But no can do say Polar, in fact they say because it's the battery it's not even a warranty issue so tough. They have a number to call on their website which is a false number (BT voice says you have dialled incorrectly). They are a sham company selling overpriced products that fail to deliver decent performance, and their customer support is non-existant. It's about time any company trading in the UK was made to offer service with a telephone number rather than just email or online chat. Buy from any other manufacturer if you want electronic fitness devices, Polar are just useless and so are their products.
think very carefully before sending your polar device to their repairs dept. had a problem with my H10 sensor and was told that it needed to be replaced at a cost that worked out just cheaper than a new device. after paying they sent me a sensor without the strap. had to fight to get a new strap. after receiving the new sensor it had the exact same problem which was sorted out by updating the app on iOS 15. after communicating this to polar they basically just stuck to "your sensor was faulty".this was an app compatibility problem with the new ios15
Polar has been spewing out new products of inferior quality for quite some time now. The days of producing a few quality products with decent warranty are long gone. Straps and watches are just falling apart. Been a loyal customer for many years, will not buy again and do not recommend.
I'm a keen gym junkie. According the website, it seemed to be a big improvement on my previous Polar device. BE CAREFUL. It doesn't work without a chest strap if you do any work with your hands on the floor e.g. Burpees or High Plank Ankle Taps. This is because the device moves around on your wrist and misses your pulse frequently. I was advised by Polar to get a chest strap and this has removed the problem totally. However it emphasises the unsuitability of the Unite for this type of exercise.
Wow. I've had the Polar Ignite for about a year now and I have to say I'm terribly disappointed. The battery life is AWFUL. The fact that I have to sync the watch manually for any of my information to be uploaded is also annoying. The watch doesn't recognize when I try to glance at it 50% of the time. When it doesn't recognize that I'm trying to see the time, and I try to manually view the time, it goes into "training" mode half the time. Giving it two stars because it is waterproof and I haven't had any issues related to that. I wouldn't buy a product from this company again. I feel like I wasted A LOT of money trying something different when I should have just stayed with a more mainstream product.
