Review Time
I have purchased multiple products from this company, with the last being a sports watch. It worked well initially but soon had issues like turning off with over 10% battery and freezing. They took it back once for repairs, but after that, they just suggested I do a hard reset. After much frustration with customer service, I started doing that every time there was an issue. It was frustrating to constantly have to ensure I had over 40% battery before use to avoid a shutdown. About 12-15 months later, it stopped charging altogether. According to local laws, a product should last more than three years, but the only offer from the company was a discount on a new watch or a small cash refund. I will never buy from this company again; my advice is to steer clear. The products have potential, but the customer service is dreadful.
This watch is of very poor quality, and I cannot recommend it. The touchscreen failed twice—once under warranty and again after just over two years, which is outside the warranty period. They replaced it the first time but are unlikely to do so again. It's concerning that this brand seems to produce watches that only last until just after the warranty expires, despite being expensive.
Quite comfortably the worst customer service I've ever experienced - predominantly as I am completely unable to reach out. No contact number fine. Chat bot function - "let me find a human colleague" - Human Colleague leaves the chat. Have absolutely no way to contact them about a product that has stopped working.
One more negative experience with Polar products and customer service to add to this site. I purchased a Polar Loop, which is advertised as a Whoop alternative. The product is not even a distant relative (I tried the Whoop on a free trial). The Loop does not track my sleep every night (no data recorded), besides being placed properly on the wrist.Furthermore, whenever I train at high intensity, it shoots my heart rate to over 170, when my beat is obviously not at that rate (I compared with my Polar OH1).The App is so poor that they should be ashamed to publish it. I contacted the customer service twice to return a faulty product, and they keep blaming their customers for their faults: according to them, it is me that do not wear the product correctly (as if this was a complicated task…), or I should factory reset the product (which I did with no improvements). They are refusing the return of a faulty product, which is in itself a major sign of how serious tu is company is. I had been a loyal customer for years, but I will not buy a Polar product ever again.
Guess these other 1 star reviews say it all. My device is BRAND NEW and already malfunctioning. No support, reinstall this, reset that, nothing works. Sorry you're past your 14 day return so too bad. Ummmm have you not heard of a warranty? It's not fit for purpose. So A chargeback is now in place I guess.
Polar Repair Review1. Polar provides a price list for battery replacement of €39.90 (each) + €15 service fee + €19 shipping fee (Polar document from June 2025).2. I'm sending my M430 watch in for a battery replacement because after 6 years it only lasts two hours out of 8.3. I have to send it by Colis Privé, which doesn't provide a receipt, which is a very bad practice.4. Silence for 10 days. I have to file a complaint to get an acknowledgment of receipt from Polar.5. My request comes back with a quote of €173—take it or leave it—for a repair of the connector, claiming that the cable is defective and that the strap needs to be replaced. However, the connector has been difficult to use from the start (when new), being a proprietary model that is complicated and inefficient; The cable works very well, but you have to regularly use Liqui Molly electronics spray and lubricant from the beginning to make the poorly designed male and female connectors connect more easily. The strap is perfect, and a replacement strap costs about €9 on Amazon. I even have a spare.5. The customer's request is therefore ignored: battery replacement only.6. The repair estimate is all the more ludicrous since the new M430 model is available on Amazon.fr for €104, only 60% of the prohibitive price of the "repair." I can therefore only refuse the estimate. 7. The customer is asked for a service fee of €19.90 and €15 for shipping to return the unrepaired device. I therefore refuse the entire quote and the watch is sent for recycling, even though it could have been repaired for around €84, according to the price list published by Polar itself.8. It is likely that Polar is trying to get the customer to buy another of its models.9. Given these questionable after-sales practices at Polar, I am buying a Garmin model.10. Polar has therefore lost a customer while competition from outside Europe is intensifying.11. Polar has also earned a negative review on Trustpilot, and I am considering contacting the General Direction for Competition, Consumer Affairs, and Fraud Control at the Ministry of Economy and Finance regarding this after-sales service.12. Treating customers like fools is always commercially disadvantageous.
I purchased a replacement band for my Polar watch based on Polar's own search tool that shows exact models the replacement bands are compatible with. However, the band I received is not compatible with my watch at all. The only customer support available is an AI bot that offers to "have my human buddies contact you by email," but it has been a full business week and I did not receive an email. No matter what time of day you try to chat with customer support, they are not available. No phone support, no option to email support directly. I am going to have to do a chargeback to get my money back for a product I can't use.UPDATE: I filed the chargeback and Polar contacted me AFTER the chargeback was closed in my favor, requesting that I reverse the case and pay return shipping to return the item that they advertised as compatible with my watch, when it in fact is not.Avoid this company, they will sell you products based on false advertising and require you to pay to return them IF you can contact the company at all. Not to mention, a 2-4 week processing time for refunds AFTER you have PAID to return the item you would never have purchased if it was accurately advertised.
