I stayed three nights at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, and it was a wonderful experience. This booking was made through Private Upgrade, and we had an excellent experience at a great price.

The view from the room was stunning, and the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious. Since it was Lunar New Year, the tteokguk (rice cake soup) was especially memorable. The grilled pork belly was unique and flavorful, and the lounge happy hour was generous and enjoyable, leaving us with many happy memories.

We also used the $100 credit at Latitude 32 Lounge for both dining and the bakery, which allowed us to enjoy a variety of experiences.

From our Lake View Room, we could see the Luminaria Festival of Lights and also watch the sunset, which was absolutely breathtaking.

We love the Bairro Alto hotel!

We love the Bairro Alto hotel, but we always have difficulty getting an upgrade! I don't understand the hotel's dynamics; if they have better rooms, why don't they satisfy the guests? The reception staff should be more friendly and kind. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the balcony of the BAHR restaurant was closed. We always choose the hotel because of the wonderful view! I asked the private upgrade attendant to include our photos because we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, but unfortunately they didn't include them or even mention it! I always recommend the private upgrade to friends and patients!

The hotel room furnishing is luxurious…

The hotel room furnishing is luxurious and spacious. The amenities are of top luxury brands. The Food & beverage in this hotel is far superior than those of Mandarin Oriental Pudong and Alila Shanghai on this trip. We dined in three different restaurants. They were all fabulous. The hotel pool and gym are clean and well appointed.

Booking system wasn't working

Booking system wasn't working. No response to email. No follow up from call. Then told no bookings available - which wasn't true. After booking, told no upgrade was available. Also not true. I needed to follow up every stage - wasted so much time on circular conversations and AI bot email replies. As with the reply below, they act as though nothing was amiss. But 5 emails & 4 phone calls to bring about an outcome- is not customer service. It is a disservice.

Our recent visit to The Fitzwilliam…

Our recent visit to The Fitzwilliam Belfast in Northern Ireland was truly outstanding. The hotel is located in the center of Belfast, close to all the local attractions. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team was exceptionally warm and efficient. We received an upgrade to a superior room on the 6th floor. We were especially impressed with our room, which included robes and slippers. The room itself centre’s around a king bed, television and charging stations up to date coffee machine and mini fridge.. overall a 5star hotel .. As we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary, we were thrilled to find a lovely card and some snacks waiting for us in our room. The breakfast was fantastic, offering a variety of options that catered to all preferences. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly; I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Experience in Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

We traveled to San Juan and stayed at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. The hotel is very beautiful and has a wonderful view of the sea. However, we requested a firmer mattress almost a month in advance when we arrived at the hotel. Initially, they replied that they would provide one, but a few days later they said it was not possible. We discussed this with the Privateupgrades team, pointing out that 5-star hotels around the world have solutions for this, and sent photos suggesting placing a wooden board over the mattress. We asked them to reconsider their decision, especially since we had requested this in advance. The Privateupgrades team then replied that our request would be granted.Upon arriving at the hotel, we immediately noticed that the change had not been made in a satisfactory, attentive, and effective manner, because a board 1/3 smaller than the mattress had been provided and placed underneath, not on top. Therefore, it had no effect. It could not be placed on top of the mattress because it was not large enough for two people to lie on, and the suite had been booked for a couple. In the end, with the help of the staff, we had to remove the mattress and sleep on the bed without it.We received the suite with the closet doors completely off their tracks and stuck. We immediately asked for them to be fixed. The employee came and said he had repaired them. On the same day, the door got stuck again and would not slide on the tracks. We had to ask for the service a second time. It was fixed, but the doors remained very heavy. The bathroom cleaning and replenishment service was very irregular. We had to ask for cotton kits every day, and even then, they were not replenished and we had to ask again. The bathrobes were removed and not replaced. The replenishment service for chocolates and snacks in the minibar, which were included in the daily rate, was not regular. The egg and omelet service at breakfast took a long time because there was only one person serving. The service provided by butler Delfín Colón was not satisfactory. This service was included in the Comodore Ocean Suite King. Although he made the reservation at Restaurant 1919 as requested, he showed irritation at being approached by us, made it clear that he was in a hurry and that we were bothering him. He was unwilling to help with anything else. We didn't dare ask him for anything else. Therefore, under these conditions, with this type of service, we found this service unnecessary. We went to the hotel reception/concierge several times asking them to exchange some $100 bills for smaller bills, since we are foreigners, and they did not have any money available to exchange, even responding that they were not a financial institution, so they had no obligation to have money exchanged for guests. However, exchanging local currency for foreign guests is common practice in the best hotels in the world. In short, we believe that the services, in general, left something to be desired considering that the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel is a 5-star hotel. It is far inferior to the service we received at the last hotel booked through Privateupgrades.
