Review Time
Due to personal reasons I requested a refund on may 2nd, fast forward to may 9th, got multiple emails saying they are a refund friendly company, yet, when I explicitly ask for a refund they stop replying, been going like this since the 2nd. - Update with ticket numbers. second one is related to the same issue.36582183669664- Update 05/14/2025They downgraded my account to free, but didn't get my money back. Its a shame since the service itself is really good, but god forbid you need to reach support for anything. They reply once a day, if you are lucky.
Unacceptably poor products.I am, and have been, satisfied with their email service, but proton drive is so unreliable that i now have to recreate data from backups made months ago. Starting now to verify if or what data is lost, and with thousands of files this will be a huge task. Completely irresponsible to offer a service like that. Tried proton pass also as it it is part of the "package" and did not loose any of my data, but does not seem as secure or user friendly as what i used before.VPN works well, but finding it hard to trust it when it is cleat that other of their software is not properly designed and tested.Moving everything execpt my emails away from proton now, and will even reconsider the emails once my other data is safely relocated.Expected way more from a company focused on data privacy/security.
I gave them a try because of their money back policy. However even though i cancelled after 2 weeks, they are not giving me my money back, they actually just keep charging me every month and their is nothing i can do about since they are not answering my mails. I had to block them from my bank.
I have made a misconfiguration at 10pm April 8th, ehich locked me out of everything in my Business-plan and now at 8pm April 10 I have got two mails, where I haven’t got any useful help and now haven’t could work in my compsny for two days.I'm left with a feeling that I'm writing in a language they don't fully master - Though I'm actually writing in English...Ticket number: 3603442
Wow, I've been in two minds about Proton and couldn't understand why. Although I've been sending emails before signing up to ask questions but the response times have been so boringly long, then I kept seeing negitive reviews all over the web then I finally landed here which has only confirmed my fears even more.I'm desperate for a secure encrypted cloud storage but I've decided to stay well away from Proton!
Update 18-03-200The problem (due to my limited knowledge of the terms and conditions) has been solved. The helpdesk communicates well and is definitely willing to help, unfortunately understaffed.I have made recommendations that will hopefully get something done and that due to a triviality of the customer or false alert, the whole account does not have to be closed for days.The functionality of the apps, website and reliable data storage and processing is perfect.I got the message This account has been suspended due to a potential policy violation and can no longer access my account at all. Contacted the help desk who only responded a day later with an email. Something would be wrong with my account, whether I did what ? No not that I know of and explanation given. Only get a vague answer a day later and ask for even more information. Also given again but apparently they don't work on Sundays.I am a private person, one pay the customer. I thought Proton is reliable and safe.I cannot access my mailbox since Friday now, even though I get messages from Proton telling me to log in because there are mails. Also, I can't access my calendar where all my appointments are listed, so I don't know my daily schedule.I have put all my contacts, interesting sites and government services to Proton login mail but so now I can't do anything at all.Ticket 3543045.Hopefully something will be solved soon and I can get back into my account to fix (if anything is wrong).
I forgot my extra proton password and needed to reset it. After creating a ticket to disable it, I wasn't helped for 5 hours. After being contacted, they wanted information about the services I used with my proton email. After giving the information, I haven't been responded to for over 6 hours. I don't have access to any of my passwords, and now I can't log in to many apps or services.
