I was debited an incorrect amount. I was told they would refund me. It’s been 2 months and no refund. R625, is not a little amount of money. Your call centre doesn’t work. The agents lose signal and calls cut out. Honestly, won’t be surprised if you lose more business with this type of service. I will never support you and will tell everyone I know how horrible my experience with you was.
My experience with Rain was pleasant up until I cancelled my contract with them. I cancelled my contract with them at the end of April 2025 and handed the router in to the Queenswood Rain branch on the 31st of April. Despite this, I am constantly HARASSED by the courier company who call on average 6 times A DAY to arrange for the router to be collected. This is totally unacceptable as I have told them time-and-time again that I have handed the router in. Coupled with this, I receive calls from Rain to tell me that my account is in arrears but not a SINGLE EMPLOYEE can tell me why despite my matter being escalated to superiors. I have tried relentlessly to resolve the matter by trying to contact Rain, but my emails bounce back, the telephone number provided on the internet 'does not exist' and I am unable to call any of the numbers back who try and call me. It has been an IMPOSSIBLE task to contact Rain and to get a clear answer from employees who clearly have no knowledge on the service. Despite Vuyo - an employee at Rain - telling me that my matter is being investigated as to why the initial employee who dealt with me could not tell me why my account was in arrears, I am yet to hear back from her days later. If you asked me 2 months ago if I would recommend Rain, I would have said 'yes.' However, this situation has severely warped my perception of the service provider and under no circumstance would I recommend it to anybody. Super, SUPER dissatisfied!!
Despite multiple emails to cancel my service and have their device collected, I have still not had anyone reach out to me. In their clause, I am still liable while I have the device - quite convenient considering they are in no rush to fetch it. Tried the bot, no support, tried social media, no contact either. Does Rain even have a customer support function anymore? It doesn’t feel like it unless you want to sign up.
I'd say within 2 minutes of requesting a callback on the website - I received a call from Jonathan who was able to provide the necessary details about the available packages in my area and explained that there are no fair use policies with Rain.Signed up with Rain while on the call!Appreciate the assistance, Jonathan!
The service Rain has provided me was great.Their service was great.Now, it's a load of crap. Since a few months ago my internet has spiralled, being extremely low speeds and a HIGHLY unstable connection.I've reported my issue 2's now, and they say they have sent it to "Higher Technicians". It's been more then 2 months now I'd say and nothing has come from it.They have friendly people on the call centre, and nothing it seems in the back of that.You pay R1000+ for a packaged advertised to be 100mbps+, but you'll only get those speeds 12 at night, or early in the mornings, not throughout the day.You'll mostly get 20 - 50mbps download most of the time. Not the 100mbps+ as they advertise.Verdict, I do not recommend the service of Rain, because the service they advertise is not what you get, and their severe poor communication and honesty with their clients.
