The package arrived on time, opened the box and instructions were extremely easy to understand. Took the sample and got the results on my iPhone very quickly. Very satisfied with the results. This box with 36 test strips was same cost as if I went to my doctors office. Great deal!
This is so misleading! I purchased this initially about nine months ago and was impressed with the concept so I ordered an 18 month kit when it was on sale last month. I was shocked this week to discover a charge of $19.99 and reached out to find out why. They said it is a $19.99 subscription for getting the results (first 30 days free.) That is so ridiculous. $19.99 for an 18 month supply is an extra $360. Nowhere did it mention anything about needing a subscription when purchasing the kit. This is extremely misleading and I want to be sure everyone who considers this product understands what they are signing up for. When you choose the option it says scanning app included but now they are charging. If you are considering this purchase please understand the total cost and what you are signing up for. I will never recommend this company to anyone.
Unexpected $20 monthly fees. Bought my mom a $150 order from Ribbon after getting bad news from the doctor. I feel the subscription costs are not transparently disclosed during the purchase process. Even my receipt says free for the app. All the pricing on the receipt is listed as numerical numbers except the print next to the app. They spell out nineteen ninety nine so it does not catch your eye. Test is interesting, but be very aware that they automatically sign you up for $19.99 a month on top of the cost of your purchase. This is a SCAM tatic, as the only mention of it is buried deep in a terms and conditions statement, and not legally clearly defined on the webpage when your purchase your kit. ALL of their online ads from Facebook to TikTok all claim the cost is just the kit "only as little as $5 a month", but then surprise charges show up on your credit card that they will not refund. BEWARE.
This Ribbon kit is awesome! The delivery was quick and the packaging was excellent. Inside the kit is everything needed to perform testing. The instructions are simple and straightforward. The app is also very user friendly. Within 3 minutes I had completed my first monthly checkup. No surprises (which is a good thing!). All data gets stored in the app and can be shared with my doctor if needed. 100% pleased with my the purchase of the Ribbon Checkup and with the peace of mind it’s giving me. Thanks, Ribbon!
WARNING: Deceptive marketing practices. Great value for the test kit and have been openly talking about the value of taking control over your own health. Little did I know that I was starting to get charged $19.99. No email receipts, no mention of this in any email correspondences (only info on the kit)or anywhere on their website AT ALL. As in nothing. In fact, it says the web app and lab reports are free on their website! No where is it advertised that there is a $19.99 charge anywhere. After I reached out to them, they said that the kit is useless without the monthly charge, and that I "can also choose the reduced plan for $5.99 if you don’t want the full subscription but still want to be able to scan and use your kit anytime." When was this ever an option? What is the point of spending money on the kit if you can't scan it? Incredibly disappointing, and I will be working to get my charges removed. Pretty sure this is against the law. I wanted this to be good so badly.Update(11/5/2025) and lowered rating:In response to their response: you are completely missing the point. I went back and fully scanned the entire site and there is no mention AT ALL about a monthly charge to be able to scan the strips. "The monthly plan is only needed if you want ongoing access to the app and scanning features..." Only needed? This isn't optional. What is the point of having the strips if you can't scan them? To just drip a paper strip in my own urine and look at pretty colors or read them like tea leaves? You're falsely advertising a free app and lab reports. If you "never want folks to be surprised by a charge", you would actually mention it at some point. Fix your site. Actually email people when they are being charged monthly or mention it in any marketing or post-sale emails. You notice that most of the poor reviews are because of this? This does not feel like bad site design, but intentional. You are hiding this.On top of everything, your customer service just vanished mid-conversation and only re-appeared after a review.
