I recently purchased a car and agreed to put down a £500 deposit. However, without my agreement, Phil processed the deposit as £1,000 instead of the £500 we had clearly discussed.
After the handover of the vehicle, he then began calling me every day asking for an additional £500, which was never agreed to at any point during the sale. This was both stressful and unprofessional.
A deposit amount should never be changed without the customer’s clear consent, and repeatedly calling to request extra money after the deal has been completed is not acceptable.
Overall, this experience left me feeling pressured and disappointed. I would advise future customers to ensure all amounts are clearly documented and confirmed in writing before proceeding.
I travelled a significant distance to view a used vehicle being offered for sale by RRG Group.
Prior to my visit, no information was disclosed about any diagnostic fault history or adverse mechanical condition.
I arranged and paid for an independent pre-purchase inspection, which recorded:
• diagnostic fault codes present
• a high clutch engagement point
• a burning smell from the clutch area
An independent diagnostic scan also confirmed the presence of fault codes at the time of inspection.
None of this information had been disclosed to me prior to viewing.
I therefore declined to proceed with the purchase and raised a formal complaint regarding material non-disclosure.
RRG Group (through their legal representatives) denied any disclosure obligation, refused transparency regarding inspection and diagnostic records and closed the complaint process.
As a result, I have escalated the matter to The Motor Ombudsman and Trading Standards.
Based on my experience, I would advise other consumers to obtain an independent inspection and diagnostic scan before relying on any representations made.

The representative was truly remarkable throughout my entire car-buying journey. She was patient, knowledgeable, and sincerely committed to helping me discover the ideal vehicle. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor made the entire experience smooth and pleasant. I couldn’t have hoped for better assistance—thank you for exceeding my expectations!
A couple of months ago, I purchased a used car from a local dealer. Although I'm not usually one to write reviews, I had been searching for a specific model for several months. I visited multiple main dealers, but the cars were not as advertised. Eventually, I decided to explore options outside traditional dealerships and found one at a local dealer. The salesperson accurately described the vehicle, and the entire buying process was quick and straightforward—just as it should be. The car has been excellent, and overall, it was a five-star experience.
I bought a car from a representative at a local dealership. We traveled down from Scotland and initially contacted them by phone to inquire and secure the sale, then met in person to finalize the purchase. The representative was extremely helpful, and all the staff I interacted with were very professional.
If you’re thinking about purchasing an electric vehicle, please consider my experience before making the same mistake. My situation is far from a minor inconvenience; it poses a safety risk and highlights a total failure in reliability. My vehicle unexpectedly entered a 'turtle mode' on August 7, causing significant power loss. This meant it could shut down at any moment, which is dangerous, especially on the motorway. I reached out to the dealership, but the earliest diagnostic appointment was a month later. When I finally brought it in, they misdiagnosed the issue multiple times, causing me to waste time and effort. After repeated visits and failed attempts to fix the problem, they finally acknowledged the main battery needed replacing but said it would take months to arrive. This entire experience has been unacceptable and highlights serious reliability issues with electric vehicles.
I took my car to a local dealership due to a humming noise. They diagnosed it as a wheel bearing issue and called me the next day to say it was fixed. After traveling 16 miles to pick it up, I noticed the noise was still there. They then claimed it was a gearbox bearing instead. After several back-and-forths and multiple Uber rides, the noise persisted, and I ended up spending £100 on transportation without a resolution. I will definitely stay away from this dealership.
I had a wonderful experience with the team at a local dealership today. I want to especially thank a representative who helped me set up my navigation system, making everything easy to understand. The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly.
I had a frustrating experience at a local dealership. After explaining my issue, I was informed that they could not pick up my car due to my distance from the location. I arranged for a replacement vehicle, only to find that I needed to bring my driving license to obtain it. They failed to inform me of this requirement beforehand, resulting in a wasted trip.
