Review Time
This company is a letdown.I have been a very good customer over the years and spent up big - no more though.After only five weeks of use, the resin handled utility knife snapped when hubby was slicing Haloumi cheese!We contacted Sakuto on numerous occasions, asking if they would please replace, only to be ignored completely.When we left a bad review on their site - it was removed.An absolute farce.Don’t bother with this lot.
Cheap Chinese knives being mis-sold as premium Japanese. This is fraud.Dispite being a UK website, asked to return to an address which doesn't exist in Japan. (Would cost another 70 quid.) I've been told I can proceed with a debit card charge back unless I have proof they were returned.
Absolutely shocking. Avoid by all costs. One of my utility knives broke in half after one year light use. All insides corroded. Always hand washed and dried. Emails customer service but no reply. Don’t waste your time and avoid disappointment. Sakutoknives.co.uk shame on you!!!
Tried to return or even exchange as wasn’t impressed with the colour. They provided a return shipping address in JAPAN (sold to us in UK). The cost was £77 to ship - which we did. The post office returned them to us as there was NO company called Sakuto knives at the address. Shameful and we are reporting them to the UK fraud office. They should be shut down .
I have bought a whole set of knives, £400. They do look stunning and you have to sharpen them regularly and they are lethal. However, one of them has a tiny chip on the blade, which I’ve noticed around Xmas time. Not sure how this happened as the knives are hand washed, hand dried, not used for anything other than food. It is also extremely surprising that “Damascus” steel or any steel for that matter, would chip on just cutting food. I’ve now emailed 3 times to customer service for replacement-not heard anything. I’ve accepted this is not Damascus steel and these are not genuine Japanese knives. I’m happy they do sharpen very well and they look amazing in my new kitchen but I’m very disappointed that I cannot get in touch with customer service. I just want a replacement.
I purchased a Damascus steel knife set from sakutoknives.co.uk two years ago, expecting it to last a lifetime with proper care, as promised by the product description. Despite following all the care instructions, the knife unexpectedly snapped today, which is unacceptable for a product of this supposed quality -and high price.I reached out to customer service. No answer!
Nice product! Knives arrived nicely packed, sharp, and in good time. Obviously, they are not Damascus it's just laser print. However, they are beautifully made, goid quality, and I'm happy with my purchase. Based on my experience, I think the trust pilot score is unfair.
To start with I didn’t read the reviews before I purchased a knife. On reading reviews I started to get worried, about so much negative feedback but fortunately I didn't need to worry as some of you did. The knife turn up & it was as I expected it to be, perfect & such craftsmanship. I must be one of the lucky ones & will be ordering again soon.
