Shipsurance is an absolute scam and they know it. They ask for the value of what you are shipping and when it is damaged they refuse to pay, they will only pay based on what they think the value is. Even though I show them the actual cost and value. They lie and steal your money. They want you to put actual value so they can charge you more, But when times comes and actually need the insurance, they cheat you out of what you paid for.
I have called Shipsurance and they have told me to expect a call about a claim denial. It was done through Pirateship and they did not convey the exact details of the damage and the followup detail to questions that I provided. I was told a couple of times by Pirateship and Shipsurance that someone would be contacting me to understand the details of the claim. I have made repeated calls to them and the person who is the representative is always “out of the office”They have a horrible claims department and are not diligent in investigating the claims. They do not follow back up with customers and do not care to reimburse a customer for clear damage that occurred in shipping. They are the worst! Do not ship anything of value with them! They will not pay if there is any shipping damage. They are a scam and will only take your money.
This company is a joke and very unethical. They try to weasel out of paying for any damage claims regardless that you have your items protected. They come up with the oddest reasons to not pay an insurance claim. I had bubble wrapped an aluminum mini cupcake pan but yet that is not sufficient enough for protection. This company should be shutdown as they don’t provide legitimate protection. Please do not feed this company anymore business. There is a reason why they have so many complaints. I will write my review on every platform there is so other people are not being deceived.
Beware their damage claim policies are very strict and they act concerned when there is a problem. The bottom line is they're not going to help you out if a customer does not follow the rules which is totally out of the shippers hands. On top of that they said to contact when there was a problem and they dropped the phone call three times and then finally went to voice mail.
We are trying to get a claim paid for a shipment through Ebay it jas been a month ebay made me do the return have it shipped back to me now we face losing the claim for a 800 dollar item. They have made us jump through hoop afyer hoop I'm very disappointed
We use Shipsurance through our Shopify store for all of our international orders and have had wonderful experiences each time we've had to file a claim. Customers have no issues following their prompts to complete their portion of the claim and the waiting periods to file have never been an issue. Communication is clear and consistent throughout the claim process and payments are quickly received once the claim is processed. 10 out of 10 recommend to anyone who ships items of value, especially internationally when packages are often lost or damaged.
RESPONSE TO SHIPINSURANCE REPLY:I already told her and sent her the email but it wasnt sufficient she wanted ANOTHER email after I asked the recepient to talk to her local post. The claim was paid in full and we were asked to pay it back to you today. So total scam. _ITS A SCAM INSURANCE. We had a package going oversees. The package has not scanned since Oct 31st. After the customer emailing us and contacting their local post several times we opened a case with them who asked us to wait for 40 days for international packages. We of course waited. After the 40 days passed they asked our customer to accept a link in which they state they have not received the package. They approve the claim and paid us and thus, we reimbursed the customer. 90 days later Emily reaches out saying the package was delivered and we should pay them back. I contact the customer, she tells me she HAS NOT received the package. This was not sufficient evidence for Emily that insisted I ask the customer to contact her local post yet again (she had contacted them several times in the 40 day period while we was waiting for the package).After 90 days plus I refuse to ask my customer for the money I refunded her back. So its basically a Scam this insurance because I acted 100% based on what the resolution of their claim was. So for them to come months later to tell us “ohh but it was delivered” its just ZERO protection for us a shop- so why buy this insurance? AVOID
