Review Time
I’ve been dealing with persistent infotainment system failures on my Škoda Scala for over six months, and the experience with Škoda UK and the local dealership (Richmond Škoda Southampton) has been extremely frustrating. The system crashes regularly—even when no phone is connected—and recently triggered a failed emergency SOS call, which raises serious safety concerns. Despite dozens of emails and assurances of updates, no firm diagnosis or resolution has been provided. The only technical information I’ve received is vague, sometimes blaming iOS devices—even though no Apple device has ever been used with the car. My Samsung S21 and S23 are both now facing compatibility issues, with no clear explanation or timeline for a fix.To make things worse, I’ve been asked to pay £120+ to diagnose what appears to be a known manufacturer fault, despite the vehicle being sold on the strength of its infotainment features, which are now unreliable and unsafe. At this point, I feel completely let down by both Škoda UK and the dealership. After six months, I'm still waiting for a resolution, and it feels like no one is taking real ownership of the issue.I would strongly urge prospective buyers to be cautious—particularly if modern tech features are a priority.***Reply to Skoda***Hi Nicolai,Thanks for your reply. You're absolutely right—this isn’t the ideal location for my review geographically, but unfortunately the ŠKODA UK Trustpilot page is unclaimed, which means no one from the UK team is responding to customer concerns there. That’s why I chose to post here: to ensure someone at ŠKODA sees this and appreciates the seriousness of the ongoing issue. I’ve been trying to get a resolution to an unresolved infotainment fault for over 6 months, with no clear timeline or support. At this point, I’m simply trying to get someone at ŠKODA—anywhere—to take ownership and assist properly. If there's a better route to escalate this within the company, I'd sincerely appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

My new Skoda, whilst still under warranty, had a defective auxillary belt tensioner, meaning the fanbelt was rattling around in the engine, potentially leading to a more serious failure. My local authorised garage, the only one wihtin any reasonable distance of my house, said they couldn't get it in for 2 months!! I have a few road trips coming up, and reading around, this is something that needs fixing soon. So, I got my local garage to fix it. I kept the defective part as proof. I was hoping to get at least some goodwill compnensation, as this was a defective part under warranty, and the only way of getting it fixed officially would have kept me waiting, worrying about an engine failure, for 2 months. Custoemr Services wouldn't help at all, and wouldn't even raise a case for me. Pretty disappointing.
