Review Time
We have a Skoda Octavia Combi that has had trouble with Apple Carplay audio since we bought it in 2019. When you play audio through the Carplay connection the music sounds like a broken CD player. We've contacted several dealers through time in both Germany and Austria where my gf is living at the moment, but they always blamed it on Apple, the software in the phone, or a defective cable etc. So we bought a new expensive Apple cable, a device for connecting with bluetooth, etc but the problem is still there. After 5 years I finally found out on forums from real professionals that others had the same problem with EXACTLY the same car audio hardware/software that we have. Those people even provided me with the exact solution, a firmware update of the car audio system is required to fix it, several other Skoda drivers reported the problem being solved with this update, but even with the solution printed out, they wouldn't help us at the dealership, because 'you shouldn't believe anything you find on the internet'... I'm not sure if it's ignorance or arrogance...Being an IT professional myself, I'm 100% certain that this update will fix it, but it can only be downloaded by the Skoda dealerships, the guys on the forum said they were not allowed to share the update, probably because they work at Skoda and could lose their jobs.. The dealer offered to do the update anyway without a guaranty for succes for 250 euros which is CRAZY since this is clearly a factory defect that should be handled as a service to customers, but the dealer talked to Skoda and they wouldn't refund the extremely high costs for something that I KNOW will take 30 minutes worst case and probably 5 minutes in real life. Such poor service for people who buy a new car in good faith, and the ignorance about this problem is very telling...
Warning be very careful of this dealership as I was Cond into a insurance policy which didn't exist, yes I got ripped off from one of the employees here, as a disabled person I went here for a car to get me around, it was during covid and my first time getting a new car on pip, but that didn't stop one of the employees ripping me off for £200, he asked me to pay a miss Williams witch I did think was strange, but I wasn't expecting my local skoda dealer to rip me off, just be careful if you do end up here with a pip entitled car. You do Not have to pay any insurance extra.
Telfords Skoda Carlisle is by far the best customer care we have received when purchasing a new car. Alex kept us updated from placing the order to delivery of the car. He set everything up for us in the car and the after service is second to none. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for a Skoda. I purchased a new skoda enyaq in July 2023 list price 52000€ wanted to trade because i getting about 260Km on a full charge was told the value of my car was 32000€ a drop of 20000€ after 6months and 4500Km on the clock. We came to look at an Octavia for sale and fortunately we had Ian Coe helping us. We have researched the Skoda brand for many year, and were previous owners of a Yeti we bought in Chichester. Unfortunately the Yeti was too small for our needs but we did like the brand. The sales experience in Chichester wasn't good so we were concerned about buying from a Skoda dealer. Ian told us he drives a Skoda and help reassure me about the automatic DSG transmission, as I'm used to gears. He showed us fully around the car, even though it was snowing, and then gave us detailed instructions of where to do our test drive (as we didn't know the area). It wasn't a difficult decision that this was the right car and at no point did Ian 'hard' sell anything. He was open and honest about our purchase. We also enjoyed the free hot chocolate whilst doing the documentation! He is attending to a few areas of the car we highlighted (cosmetic) and ensuring its all valeted etc. We experienced excellent customer service from Ian and we're looking forward to picking our new car up next weekend.
I truly love their sedans. It was one of the first cars in my family, so that is the reason why I can express only positive emotions about this brand. They produce quality cars complying with all modern car manufacturing standards. For sure, they don't release luxurious cars, but the brand itself doesn't imply luxury. It's mode about modesty and comfort.
