Review Time
I signed up for the 7 day trial and encountered too many issues to warrant the annual subscription so cancelled the trial - or so i thought! Full payment was taken on day 8, 1 day after the trial ended. I was met with a brick wall stance from several of their agents regarding a refund, but then when i asked for the account to be reactivated i was offered a 11 month refund. The emails back and forth remained calm between both parties but eventually they saw sense and made the offer. I suppose they didnt have to and therefore im grateful they did. The issues i experienced could be down to user error rather than an application issue, but either way, the issues where frustrating to workaround.
I had problems paying for the smallpdf pro monthly subscription and sent them an email when the payment was rejected by my bank.Promptly got a reply with guidelines for cancelling the subscription - which I did so, and the payment reminders have stopped.Good service - ensures that I will subscribe when needed.
"Yearly subscription" No, they'll take the money out whenever they feel like it! They'll scam you!I tried this subscription before, then cancelled immediately after (thank god). This time, however, not even a full month after I had initially subscribed, I was charged £80!! And this is supposed to be a "yearly" subscription?! Now they won't give me my money back, even though I barely use this thing (once or twice for university), and was charged WAY sooner than was agreed to in the terms and conditions they're disputing me with. And good luck if you want to dispute the charge; the bank can't do much, and SmallPro will fight you for that last cent - not to mention they only have an email to contact. No phone number, no building to go to. Whether or not they give me my money back, you can be sure as hell I'm never using their service again. Don't use this service, they are a SCAM!EDIT: 9/6/2025:They claimed they'll refund me 75 for the price of one month, that I should wait 2-3 days but should allow 2-3 weeks in case. I asked for a proof of refund, to which they typed up something probably on google documents. Yeah, sure. I doubt I'll see that money again. I called my bank which said it could take 4-8 weeks. I'd just avoid this whole hassle and not take the risk of using this subscription, even just the one time!EDIT: 3/5/2025:Out of the £81 charged to me, £75 was refunded. They MIGHT refund you the money, but will still take a cut of the money from you. I would avoid this whole issue and not purchase the subscription at all!
I was a smallpdf subscriber for many years, and this would have been a 4-5 star review but then this year they doubled their annual subscription prices with no reason or explanation. I will no longer be using smallpdf due to their ridiculous price increase. There are other products that do no charge as much.
