I wish I had read these reviews before my recent order. What a disappointment! This whole operation seems a LITTLE sketch and a LOT unorganized! I ordered a pretty dress and a tunic and crop pants for a special birthday trip to Florida. I haven’t used Soft Surroundings for a while so decided to give it a whirl as I remembered really liking the clothes years ago, even though they were a little pricey…I thought I had plenty of time since it was 2 weeks to the trip and items are usually shipped within 1-2 days, right?? lol More than a week later I still had not received an e-mail about my order being shipped. I called to inquire and discovered that not only had my order not been shipped, something had been on backorder but had now been received and everything was in the warehouse getting ready to be shipped tomorrow! Ok…Too late to get here with regular shipping. I asked about expedited shipping and was told because of the “new warehouse” expedited shipping was not available. (??? What??) It was also “too late” to cancel the order. Before calling customer service, I had not received ANY information about any of this. Isn’t there generally a communication if an item(s) is on backorder and there will be a delay in shipping? What does a “new warehouse” have to do with expedited shipping? Just ridiculous. I guess Soft Surroundings thinks we have all just fallen off the turnip truck.
Needless to say, the minute this order arrives, it is going straight back. Never again!
I will NEVER buy anything from this company again. I ordered a long jacket, and it seemed like my order wasn’t confirmed, so I placed the order again. My credit card was charged twice, as the first order had gone through after all. I reached out to customer service within minutes to cancel one of the orders, but I was informed that they had already been processed. In the end, I returned the duplicate order, which was received at their facility on 12/22/25 at 1:27 pm. Every time I’ve contacted them, they ask for more and more information. I feel like they are trying to scam me. To be honest, I don’t even want to wear the jacket anymore. They have lost a loyal customer.
Returning items is very challenging. There are ongoing issues with online returns, and customer service via chat and phone is unhelpful, stating they will send a label that never arrives. The QR code provided is reportedly non-functional.
The item I received was poorly made and the material was very disappointing. Returning it cost me $20.00, which included a return fee and taxes. This was my first experience like this. Only order if you're sure you want to keep it!
I used to be a loyal customer, but not anymore. I ordered a jacket weeks before Thanksgiving, expecting it by Dec. 6th, but the website now states a delivery date of May 2026! I contacted customer service, but they refused to cancel the order, despite it being listed as in stock. This feels illegal and deceptive.
The return policy and customer service are the worst. I bought a top that didn't fit and when I called for return instructions, they failed to mention a return fee. I paid $56.78 and only received a $35 refund. They agreed to refund the return fee later, but this feels like theft.
