I ordered cutting boards from energysolarlighting.com, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The package arrived from China in terrible condition — the box was crushed, torn, and taped up multiple times. The product inside was also damaged and completely unusable.
I contacted the company immediately and sent photos of both the damaged box and the damaged product. Their response was to offer either a 30% partial refund if I kept the unusable item, or I could return it to a UK address at my own expense and wait for another shipment from China. Since this was meant to be a Christmas gift and the issue occurred on December 15th, I chose the partial refund.
It has now been two months, and I still have not received the refund. I’ve emailed them multiple times and used their website’s message form, providing all the necessary information each time. I have not received a single reply since their initial offer.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Poor product quality, poor packaging, and no follow‑through on their promised refund.
AVOID SOLARENERGYLIGHTS LIKE THE PLAGUE. I purchased four wall outlet night lights for $50 each, on sale down from $100. I was expecting a decent product at this price point, so was unpleasantly surprised when they arrived from China a month after purchase. They were plastic, felt cheap and were connected to an adaptor to fit Australian wall outlets, so stuck out an extra inch than the product image displayed. Next the return process, while Solar energy were quick to reply and confirm they were happy for them to be returned, I’ve heard nothing back from them despite them receiving the product 3 weeks ago. I emailed them again three days ago in case they’ve ’been busy’, still no reply. It cost me $50 to return post them to the UK. Overall, $50 lost and $200 yet to be refunded.
This is not a UK based company. They are not able to deliver in 24 hours as some sponsored links suggest. The products are crap. It’s a China based company masquerading as UK based. Do not buy from here. Customer service is a shocker. Put this company down as akin to a scam.
Please do not go near this company. I paid £301 for two items on 16th Dec 2025, my order has not even been processed!!!! They've literally just stolen my money. I've been emailing every day since 21st Dec looking for a refund, not one reply. I wish I'd read the reviews here before going near them. I'm sick to my stomach, such a scam of a company. I've never experienced anything like this beforeEdited 8/2/26 - just wanted to update to be fair to this company, two weeks ago I received a full refund and an apology for issues with shipment.
The website is completely disingenuous making every effort to trick UK consumers that they are a UK company and that items are dispatched from within the UK. That is NOT the case! I can't comment on the quality of the products as they are still in China! Also after reading the website fully I am only hopeful of a refund if the item is lost in transit as I paid using PayPal! A single sentence hidden on their website states losses or damage in transit are not our responsibility. Once the package is handed to the courier it is 'out of our hands'! I certainly wouldn't have ordered if I'd realised items were coming from China, particularly as the cost of the items wasn't particularly cheap.

Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Liars as not UK based but China. Item took forever to arrive and then was scratched and sub standard!Tried to return but being completely ignored and no reply to over 20 emails. I do however keep getting emails asking for my review and if I want to buy anything! DO NOT TOUCH
