Review Time
Started off well having a up to date eye test with the optician but then EVERYTHING went downhill, which is the reason as to only giving 1 star due to the optician being good, otherwise would had been 0 stars.I chose 2 pairs of glasses 1 being prescription sunglasses for an upcoming trip abroad just over 1 week to go. I needed the prescription sunglasses for this trip and advised the assistant of this so as to be aware. This being my first holiday abroad since Covid lockdown, so you can appreciate how important this trip was for me and looking forward to. The lady took all the relating measurements for varifocal lenses, and I paid over £600.00 in good faith for the chosen glasses (this price included discount offer of 1 pair free)!I received the phone call stating my glasses were ready for collection on the Thursday and went in to collect on the Saturday before due to flying out to Egypt the following Wednesday morning early hours. Upon the collection visit - my everyday glasses were perfect with clear crisp vision, however, the sunglasses (which I needed desperately) I was not able to see through. After much debating between dispensing assistants the original assistant whom I had seen the week prior who took all related measurements, openly admitted she had incorrectly input the wrong data for the PD, hitting number 6 on the keyboard when it should had been 5 - bearing in mind this was exactly the same prescription as to my everyday glasses which were perfect! Without a care of consideration for my dilemma she quoted it would be a further 1 week to get (her mistake) rectified with the correct prescription lens - time which I did not have due to flying out on the upcoming Wednesday, all for which she was previously aware.There was no display for compassion or remorse for her costly mistake and was asvised they couldn't promise for the correct lens to be ready for Tuesday. I finished my work earlier so as enabling me to go on Tuesday late afternoon in the hope to collect my glasses. I called the shop during my journey towards the shop to be advised over the phone my sunglasses were still in production - once again without any compassion or remorse in attitude from the assistant on the phone quite blatantly quoted when I said I was on my way into the shop to collect my sunglasses "Well there will be no glasses for you to collect, even if you do come in" - an attitude in reply I would NOT expect to receive displaying no compassion OR customer service!The store manager was waiting for when I attended the shop, explaining the sunglasses were not ready and required the full week for the lenses to be made. She offered a refund of £100 if I would be happy to proceed with the order. This meant I was going abroad with NO sunglasses for which they were specifically ordered for, and not ready for collection until my return being the month of November (who would need sunglasses to wear in the UK in November)? You can imagine how frustrated and annoyed I was feeling when this mistake was to my detriment through the carelessness error of the assistant NOT being diligent within her work. At NO TIME was GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE displayed, with no signs of expediting workers errors for the customer.Extremely DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICE (non existent in fact), which displays customer loyalty is NOT valued, you are just a number and a source of revenue for budgets being hit with shoddy appalling work force inadequately trained to do a job they are employed to do! I SHALL NOT BE RETURNING and WILL NOT RECOMMEND the company to anyone.
