As a 75 year old male, I felt I was taken back in time to the standard of service one received many, many moons ago The quality of advice & service I received from 'Rome' (Joint Branch Manager) was simply wonderful. Many thanks, needless to say this quality of service will continue.Ian Madden
Excellent service from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Amazing attention and care given especially since I had recently received a medical diagnosis which required an explanation on how it can possibly affect my eyes. An additional scan was also done, which helped to put my mind at rest. The team in Alton are friendly, courteous and professional.
Personable staff who put you at ease as you walk through the door through to efficient, thorough eye testing. I never felt rushed when asking questions of the optometrist who explained things very clearly as she referred me to a clinic. Tyreece was very helpful throughout especially when helping me choose new frames. He is a credit to the business. I thoroughly recommend this branch. My referral to me to a clinic also in Windsor where, unfortunately, I was made to feel exactly the opposite by the optometrist I saw! Well done Specsavers Windsor!
I have had complex vision all my life so have spent much time in opticians and thousands of pounds of my hard earned money in various places so I know what I should expect from these services. I have had two bad experiences with this company in the past and didn't want to return but I was persuaded to give it another go to my regret. My first experience involved a pushy sales adviser trying to sell expensive glasses as though they were disposable fashion items with no understanding that we must wear them all the time and chunky zebra print might not work for all occasions. Then she sold me a pair where the nose piece was left so sharp it cut me. I did not wish to go back. The 2nd time I felt as though I were on a conveyor belt being moved along chairs with other people to have various things ticked off it was very impersonal and didn't fill me with confidence. This time I asked if I could be provided with paperwork confirming the vision problems I have but cannot treat with any prescription for my records and to help with a referral for further investigation. I was told I could then when I turned up for my appointment they said they couldn't. I would have to put a freedom of information request on the internet after. I never had trouble with this in the past with my independent optician and still have copies of his old hand written referral requests to take to my GP. The worst thing is that they ask no proof of my identity when I make the appointment but cannot give me my own information at the end because of data security but anyone can request my data from them just by filling in a form on the internet and saying they are me - pathetic. This is the same poor treatment we have come to expect from the NHS because they get our money in advance of treatment and we have no choice of where we go. We should not expect it from a private company who charges us and who knows that we can go elsewhere. The check up was the briefest I have ever had with no checking at all of my complex issues which all previous opticians check routinely even though they know there are no glasses that will help. It felt tick boxy and impersonal all they wanted was my money. They didn't even give me my prescription after I paid I had to request it and was forced to wait a very long time while she went and found it. It felt very unprofessional and uncaring. I had planned to buy new glasses but there was no way I was going to give these people another penny.Your staff have successfully persuaded me never to use your company again and I will instead hunt down a new independent optician now mine has retired. I would rather pay more to a good optician than to leave feeling tricked and cheated as I do with this one. My eyesight is too important. My experience was based on three different stores so it is clearly a company problem.
