I Have a Stressless Max Chair

I Have a Stressless Max Chair, however i have not been able to use this chair, as its been in for repair for the last two Months. It appears the company will not back it's warranty in any kind of timely manner. The chair was delivered 14 March 2023. It didn't operate properly the day i received it, however, it smoothed out, and worked until it completely failed around June 8 2023, dealer picked it up 14 June. This is 10 August and still no chair. Talked to stressless this morning. and amazingly, they have shipped the chair part an hour after my call. However, there is still no date for chair to be returned. Probably a good chair, if it works, haven't been able to use it long enough to say. If it breaks prepare to wait a long period for repair

Obviously these negative reviews have…

Obviously these negative reviews have not been done with people who have health issues!! I have scoliosis, herniated disks, degenerative disks, arthritis, and bad posture. This chair is awesome! Just what i needed to be able to SIT comfortably with no pain. When you have all the spine problems that i have, COST is NOT an issue. All i want is to be able to enjoy a little quality of life snd be able to read a book or watch a tv show with no pain. I have the large max power recliner.

Wish I had read these reviews before…

Wish I had read these reviews before purchase! The seating cushions flattened after a couple of months, so very firm and uncomfortable. The neck support now pushes the back of the head out instead of supporting the neck.Very uncomfortable overall. If it had cost a few hundred pounds I could understand, but for a £3000 sofa it's a bad joke.I can only guess they are a cheap budget sofa in Norway, as that's what it feels like.Update after 2 years, just to prove it can get worse, the reclining feature has stopped working and the stitching on one of the cushions has started to come loose and the whole sofa now creaks like an old galleon.

Failed after 5 1/2 mos.

My electric rocking chair arrived 5 1/2 months after ordering. 6 weeks later it was being sent in for repairs. Furniture store picked it up for repairs. The headrest stop working. Retailer sent repair person out to reset. Next day, all controls would flash lights, did all of the trouble shooting furniture store and YouTube recommended. Still waiting to see how long it takes to get chair back. It doesn’t have as much padding as our other furniture (major mfg.).It is comfortable for watching tv, as the headrest adjusts for reading or tv viewing. That is, assuming yours works.

DO NOT BUY STRESSLESS

I bought the stressless Mary couch and chair both of which totaled over $13,000 (USD)! I bought this around June 2022 and in just 3 months the seats became uncomfortable to the point where the store i bought it from had to get the seats replaced. The new seats also turned out to be defective in 3 months and the seats are so uncomfortable that i am having lower back pain.I now have to pay 12% re-stocking charge to the store i bought it from just to take this TERRIBLE furniture away!DO NOT BUY!

Beware

Beware. This chair is not stressless for someone with mobility issues. It is very difficult to rise up from the chair and there is no support for knees when the leg rest is up completely. i have to use lots of pillows if i am sitting for long periods of time, so this is not worth the huge amount of money i am spending. It is very disappointing.

Stressless Max Power Recliner - Nicely Adjustable

Purchased the Stressless Max power recliner, and it has been terrific. My earlier power recliners were Lazyboy and Pallisers. The Stressless is much, much more comfortable, with superior adjustability of seat position. Some of the other negative reviewers on this site likely did not try it out first. I will say that I’m on the leaner side (5’-9”, 160 pounds), and I could see how this might not be the right chair for a heavier person. For me, this is the first recliner I’ve owned where the neck position is adjustable such that it doesn’t force my neck forward and cause pain. The other overstuffed brands are a problem for me in that way.Update July 2024: Recliner is still performing perfectly. Use it every day, no problems at all. Electronics work well, seat a back cushioning remain comfortable and supportive.

I have had my stressless chair for…

I have had my stressless chair for about a year. This is the worst $4000 I have ever spent. This chair does nothing but cause me stress. The pain in my back becomes unbearable and I have to sit elsewhere. I am very disappointed in my chair.

Disappointed

Well it appears I’m not the only one who is disappointed in Stressless. from other reviewsWe bought their “Mary” couch, at a cost of £4400 in sale. After approx 2weeks started to feel discomfort in lower back/bottom, so called Stressless who sent out “assessor” he tells us actually nothing wrong with couch but agreed filling was quite “thin” and frame is plywood. On asking what can be done, he said, he’d forward his findings and customer feedback ( I was visually distressed ) and hopefully Stressless would either “refill” with thicker padding or may change to 2 chairs.Oh no they aren’t, not interested, not their problem is their attitude

The power recliner is disappointing.

I had great experiences at a friends place sitting in Stressless chairs So I bought a power recliner a while back. The power recliner is disappointing. It is not comfortable and I have discomfort after sitting in it. The positions aren't that great either. I have to tuck the arm pads under because they are not comfortable. It doesn't swivel easily. Just plain disappointing. I would gladly sell it half of cost.
