I use SnagIt, Audiate, and Camtasia DAILY. The only thing I do more than that is breathe. Camtasia is and always has been my go to video editor. SnagIt is the only screen capture tool you need and none of the others come close to it. They are not even half as good as SnagIt is. That is how far it is ahead of other screen capture tools. Audiate: Where have you been all my life. The best way to edit audio and now it has AI voices as well. Let's not forget all the FREE TRAINING Techsmith provides. Been a customer well over 12 years. Wouldn't be a content creator if it wasn't for them.
I appreciate how much you value your early users and how sincerely you respond to inquiries. Your approach always gives me a sense of trust and warmth. I also find it encouraging that the product continues to improve through steady feature updates.At the same time, I sometimes feel that the feature introduction videos don’t always connect directly to real-world use cases. For example, when I want to create a simple text fade‑in, it’s not immediately clear whether I should use animations, transitions, or visual effects. As a result, it can take some time to find the right tutorial. It would be very helpful if I could quickly reach the instructions by searching with a specific purpose, such as “text fade‑in.” Additionally, having a guide that shows how to reproduce PowerPoint‑style animations in Camtasia would be extremely valuable for practical, day‑to‑day work.
The site's is pretty straightforward, even if you're not a crypto expert. I didn't need any guides or instructions. The buttons are clear and it just make sense. I never feel lost clicking around, which is not something you find a lot in crypto.
Camtasia is excellent for screencasts. It offers many tools to make the experience interactive and help viewers follow along. I'm not a big fan of upselling premium assets, as it makes the interface and the asset search less UI-friendly. Audiate needs significant improvements. When I auto-silence pauses, it always silences parts of my speech. Also, it's bad at removing breathing sounds. The software is counterintuitive and can increase your editing time rather than speed it up.Thumbs up for Camtasia, thumbs down for Audiate.
The product Camtasia drew me. I encourage you not to forget that many potential customers have NO/ ZERO experience with content making or editing. Many "begginner" vids wave the cursor around the naming buttons and features quickly. I hope TechSmith will produce a vid that names each button/feature and walks me through it... slowly. Keep up the GREAT product design and delivery.
Do not buy this software!Very bad frustrating service!So I bought Camtasia 2024 I only need the standard verion.Got the updates though 2024 ( wich the updates of the bought 2024 until 2025 are with the bougt version) and it changes to 2025 version. Could not use it so i wrote and recieved a key until mu subscribtion was over. But I do not need these updas and now I wanted to use my bought camtasia 2024 but it needs a key I can not use it because the standard version will give a overlay. There answer. Delete the 2025 and reinstall 2024 yes you will lose your setup.If you decide you no longer wish to renew your subscription, you'll no longer be able to access the 2025 or later versions.
From the outset, and to be clear – Snagit as a product is an excellent tool and use it extensively to support teaching and research, and Technical Support.Unfortunately, the customer service behind it is anything but supportive. As one of the larger education providers in the UK - 20k+, I doubt this experience will come as much of a surprise leaving 2 stars - at best – and that is purely because the software itself is strong. The support to date could tempt me to shave off one more given an unlicenced product is of no use.I have held a licensed copy of Snagit for a couple of years and renew its maintenance annually via our business purchase-order system. The renewal cost is modest, but its a licence no-the-less. This year, I raised a purchase order three days before renewal was due after a reminder was received. On the renewal date itself, nothing had changed, so I reached out to support through the website support to confirm they received my PO and to provide evidence.To their credit, the initial support technician was excellent – I provided all payment and account details, and the issue was promptly escalated by him to sales. So far, so good.Then everything stalled.Three days passed. Nothing. I chased. A day later, I was told the case had been escalated to Tier 2. Again, promising in theory. Five days and several follow-up messages on my ticket, still no action, no clarity, and no progress whatsoever. I signed out of the software and back in to see if that will help and the old date remains. My old key and account remains as per the previous year.I appreciate that renewals may involve a convoluted process behind the scenes, but the lack of communication gives a very clear impression my account is being quietly sidelined, or worse, nudged towards a full-price repurchase and wonder how many others with the old licencing are affected by this. If that is not the intention, I apologise, but it certainly feels like it.A great product cannot compensate for poor support that appears unresponsive, opaque, and frankly indifferent with no complaints or feedback portal on their own website - which is odd in itself. I hope this experience prompts some reflection within the support and sales teams, because customers – even existing and long-standing ones – should not have to fight this hard merely to renew something they already paid for fully in the past.
