Ski Injury- medical only claim £1400.
Initially frustrated by "front-line" defence where they insisted on bank statement showing "total cost of holiday". I explained I could not, and would not provide this (friend organised trip) and their request was unreasonable for a medical only claim.
I requested claim be processed by Senior Claims Advisor and was paid in full in two weeks.
Process a bit frustrating and their communication could be better. If you feel "wronged" remember to use AI to help understand their justifications, or if you have a genuine claim that is being blocked.
I bought travel insurance with the company in July 2025 for a trip to Japan planned for May 2026. Unfortunately, the holiday was canceled on the doctor's advice due to my wife's health issues. Other family members submitted their documents to their respective companies and have received their refunds, but I have not. The underwriters for the insurance are known to be difficult to work with. I received an email from them on December 4, 2025, promising a refund via BACS within five working days, but I am still waiting. I contacted the claims department of the company, and all they did was file a complaint with the underwriters, which remains unresolved. The staff at the underwriters seem completely incompetent, especially in their claims department. It's puzzling why the line manager is not addressing urgent requests promptly. The delay in processing my refund since December 4, 2025, is unacceptable. Dealing with the travel insurance team and their underwriters has been a nightmare. I strongly advise against using their services. I hope to hear back from the travel insurance team or the underwriters soon.
Delay in Processing Missed Port Claim
My travel insurance is managed by a certain provider. I work Monday to Friday, 9-5, which coincides with their claims line hours. As a result, I had to submit my Missed Port claim via email. I sent my claim on December 12th and have followed up multiple times with the necessary details and evidence, yet I'm still awaiting confirmation about my claim's acceptance. Given the holiday season, three weeks feels excessively long, especially since my partner, who called during operating hours, had her claim resolved in just ten minutes and received her refund within five hours! Why does an email claim take so much longer when all required evidence was included in my initial email?
I took out a travel insurance policy with a well-known provider, thinking I could trust them. There were cheaper options, but I preferred a name I recognized. Just 14 days after purchasing the policy, I broke my wrist. I called and was told the injury had been added to my policy at no extra cost. However, when the documents arrived, my broken wrist was not included. I called back and spoke to a representative who informed me there would be a £162 charge. After further discussions, she promised to consult her manager and get back to me the next day, but she never did. When I called again, I was told the manager would contact me, but he didn't. I called again today and had to repeat all my information, only to be told the cost was now £220. I expressed my concern about my upcoming holiday, but the representative seemed uninterested. I doubt I will hear back anytime soon.

I have been waiting for a phone call for the second consecutive week to understand why my payment for travel insurance hasn't been refunded. I found this service via a comparison site. I purchased travel insurance, but their website link broke during the process. Although they took my payment, I received no documents. I requested to cancel the insurance the next day, and I have provided proof of payment and my personal details multiple times. Yet, they keep insisting on more evidence. They have taken my money, and I have shown who I am. It's frustrating that they refuse to process my refund despite the circumstances. It's been nearly two weeks since the payment was taken, and I cannot fathom why a phone call would change anything. It's ridiculous.
I wish I had seen the reviews beforehand. The provider for the travel insurance is one of those companies that seem to go to great lengths to avoid payouts. I have filed a formal complaint and will escalate to the relevant authority if necessary after the internal process concludes. I would advise others to do the same; don't just accept their claims denials. When my policy renews, I will be looking elsewhere.
Avoid at all costs! The travel insurance is terrible. I have a premium policy, but it covers very little. I experienced a flight delay of 7 hours and was only compensated £50. They also required a specific reason for the delay from the airport, not just an email notification.
My partner and I had to cancel our travel plans due to severe flooding and typhoons, but our policy does not cover natural disasters. I find it baffling that an insurance policy would exclude such significant events. I was told that if I wanted to make a claim, I might have to pay a higher premium? This was supposedly in the fine print, but I couldn't find any mention of it in the documents provided. I had chosen this provider for their perceived reliability, but it seems I was mistaken.
