Extremely disappointing experience due to subscription issues

I had an extremely disappointing experience, primarily due to the subscription practices and lack of customer focus. I purchased a scanner in December 2023, under the impression that I was getting a one-year subscription. What I failed to grasp was that the subscription would automatically renew each year with a full annual fee. The company charged my account twice: once in 2024, which I regrettably overlooked again in 2025, which I noticed right away. In both instances, I did not utilize the service at all. Upon noticing the second charge, I reached out to the company to cancel the subscription and request a refund for the most recent payment. While they agreed to cancel future renewals, they outright denied any refund, citing internal policies and showing no flexibility or goodwill — despite the service being unused and no clear reminder being sent prior to renewal. This does not seem like a customer-oriented organization, but rather one that depends on automatic renewals and rigid policies to enhance profits. After reading other reviews, it's evident that many others are experiencing similar issues. Transparency and fair treatment should take precedence over profit. Unfortunately, this experience has eroded my trust in the company, and I cannot recommend it.

Disappointing experience with the service

Very disappointing experience with the service. There was no indication during the purchase that I was committing to an annual subscription. I received no reminder about the renewal, and suddenly £90 was withdrawn from my account without any warning, which is a significant amount. They seem to rely on "German Law" as an excuse, even though transactions were conducted in GBP on their site, with no prior mention of this. I've filed complaints with both the relevant European authority and local trading standards.

Utterly dissatisfied with the service!

I received three replacements for the device, and NONE of them worked. They charge €149.99 for a plan that is ineffective, and they AUTO RENEW it without any prior notice. I've ended up spending €300 on a service that provides nothing and €130 on a device that doesn't function! AVOID THIS, IT'S A SCAM!

This company is awful. They don't clearly state that there's an annual subscription that automatically deducts money from your account. When I requested to cancel and receive a refund, they refused, saying I could only cancel the following year's subscription, but it's too late for this year. Avoid at all costs.

Proceed with caution

I placed an order believing it would be compatible with my vehicle, purchasing an all-vehicle package, but it failed to code anything for my car. The website doesn't specify compatibility issues. I returned the scanner as instructed, incurring costs, only to receive a message stating they don't accept returns and I can't get a refund through the app. I requested them to send it back to me, but they refused to cover the return shipping despite my initial costs. Customer support is lacking; there's no phone number available. I had high hopes, but I can't recommend this service to anyone.

Watch out for automatic renewals

Be cautious of the auto-renew feature. I never received an email notifying me that funds were being taken from my account. For every other subscription I have, I receive reminders, but it seems they avoid this to prevent cancellations. They simply take your money without warning and refuse to issue refunds. This is extremely poor practice from the company, especially right before the holidays.

Lack of transparency and removed features

I inadvertently renewed my subscription through a payment service without realizing it, as the company doesn't send renewal reminders or display billing history in the account dashboard. The only indication I had was a line stating my membership is 'active' and that cancellations must go through support. There’s no clarity on billing. To make matters worse, shortly after my renewal, I was informed that a key feature was being discontinued, which was the main reason I subscribed. When I reached out to support, they insisted I must pay for another year regardless of the removed feature. They ignored my concerns and simply repeated a scripted message about their policies, refusing any refund. Based on other reviews, my experience is not isolated. Many customers report similar issues with auto-renewals, difficulty canceling, and lack of refunds even when services become unusable. My advice: double-check your payment settings before signing up, because it won't be easy to cancel or manage your subscription.

Deceptive subscription model

The scanner is essentially a rebranded model from another manufacturer, offering only basic features. It can read codes, but isn't worth the investment. Hidden subscription fees lead to annual charges, and there's no way to cancel through the app or online. You receive no notification before money is deducted from your account. They know their product is subpar and that customers may regret their purchase, but then they hit you with an unexpected second payment due to the subscription you can't easily cancel. Once the money is withdrawn, it's too late—there's no customer support, no apologies, and no refunds, just a response claiming it was in the terms and conditions, which are very much concealed. Truly a scam!
